  • white sox enjoy your brief stay in first wont be there long

The white sox hitters are horrible. Konerko hasnt done shit since signing his big contract after 2005. He is worthless rightnow. Jim Thome is washed up and he was part of the worst trade in recent years, thome for rowand. Brian Anderson isnt a major league ball player.

Sox fans get ready for disappointment, cubs are going to series and sox are making plans for october as we speak.

Can't figure out why they won't put Konerko on the DL to rest his arm for a short period of time. Better now in May/June then in September. But for some reason they don't want to do that.

It's too bad, cause your pitching staff, especially the relievers are so much better then expected, that it's a shame that Vasquez lost that game tonight.

I dont believe there is anything wrong with konerko besides the fact he sucks. Ballplayers get banged up and nicked all during the seasons the goods adjust and play through it. Besides didnt seem to bothering him thursday night when he hit a 500 foot homerun with no one on base and the game all ready over.

Im sick of him and his 200 batting average since last june.

Greg Walker shoud be fired imediately! This is a 2 year embarrassment.

all i keep hearing is how he get a cortazone (sp) shot for his arm regularly...and that's not gonna do anything but slow him down.

I agree with you on Thome...he's done. It's just natural progression with him at his age. But it's like they are waiting for him to find the fountain of youth.

i will say the future looks real bright though with that steal of a deal you got in Quentin. Bring up that kid Eldred who's hitting the snot out of the ball in Charlotte and wave good bye to thome, or better yet let him teach the kid.

It's been a fun two months....none of that will matter if we don't finish.

Seems we might have the squad to do it, but you just never know.

I'll give you Soriano for Quinten????

Lets give some credit to Kazmir and Tampa Bay in all this.
This team like the Red Sox is almost unbeatable at home and are a legitimate chance to either win the division and/or get the wildcard.
I remember that three game series in April where they swept Red Sox in Tampa(I was at one of the games) and completely silenced the Red Sox bats.

I am a lifelong Whitesox fan, and I believe we have the best team in the AL Central right now as we speak. Tbay has a good team and has been playing everyone tough. If we win today, that will give us a 4-3 roadtrip, and we will be 4-3 against the Rays for the season. I'll take that. The offense is a concern right now, but I believe KW sees the same things everyone else does and if the Sox continue to struggle, he will make some moves. He knows this division is up for grabs and I have trust that he will do whatever he needs to get the offense clicking. June is a easy month for the Sox, so I am hoping for a big month. We have had a tough schedule so far and alot of road games, this month we have alot more home games and I believe that will wake this offense up.

As for the Cubs and them going to the World series, that's a little premature. It's June 1st, and granted they have the best record in Baseball, but there are 4 months left and aot of things can happen. If the World series were held in June, then yes they would be headed there, but it's in October, and since this is the Cubs we are talking about, there is too much baseball left to annoint them NL Chumps.

The Guy On The Mound Today For The Rays Had 4.98 Era Going Into Todays Game.

Kazmir Is Good Pitcher. Even Better When Going Up Against A Team Hitting 230.

Yeah Lets Wait Till The End Of July To See If The Bats Heat Up. If The Sox Dont Make A Move Now To Secure A Bat Or 2 Detroit Or Cleveland Will Heat Up And Leave Them In A Cloud Of Dust.

Konerko Left 4 More Men On Base Today
Please Send Him And His 200 Batting Average To L.a For A Couple Of Maple Bats.

Kaz Is Awesome -- Tampa Has A Very Good Young Staff

Shields Is Nearly Un Hittable At Home

White Sox Starting Pitching Has Been Suprising -- No Offense To Speak Of

Cubs Still Need A Solid Starting Pitcher -- Cant Win In The Playoffs With What They Have

A lot of folks including many pro handicappers imply that Tampa has a good young team but not good enough/experienced to seriously contend and go against them more than woth them; a lot said the same about the Celtics
I know you can't judge by one game, but in the game I saw in Tampa recently between the Red Sox and Tampa won by the Rays won, they did everything right-great pitching and they made several great plays in the outfield and infield which were the difference.
This is Tampa Bay 2008 and not the crappy Tampa teams we have been accustomed to seeing play in the past.
The lines at home are not outrageous when you look at their excellent home record and compare them with the Red Sox and Yankees lines at home,
If I see a line somewhere with decent odds of Tampa making the playoffs, I am going to jump on it;this team is here and barring injury, should be a force to deal with this season and at least the near future.

TAMPA HAS WON ME SOME HUUUGE COIN THIS YEAR -- HAD THEM IN ALL 4 GAMES AGAINST THE WHITE SOX AND HAVE PLAYED THEM PROB 15 OF THEIR LAST 20 GAMES

ALWAYS TAKE THEM WHEN KAZ AND SHIELDS PITCH AT HOME

Good thinking;I have been playing them also especially when I see other cappers betting the oppostion and stating/implying the bubble is about to burst.
There were probably a lot of anti Rays folks who got excited because they lost the first game against the White Sox.
Tampa and my Red Sox will be clashing this week in Fenway, and even though Sox swept them the first time around(after getting swept in Tampa) and have historically owned them, I think this will be a tough series with first place on the line.
The lines of course will probably all be 150-160 or even higher depending on the matchups, and good value there for Tampa;the caveat is though that Sox are 21-5 at home.
On the other hand and even though I have been a diehard Sox for many years, logic dictates that by the end of the season they are going to lose some home games and that winning percentage will come down-what better candidate right now than Tampa (and of course always the Yankees) to pina loss or two on the Sox.
Conversely, I don't expect Sox to get swept again in Tampa the next time around.
