MLB is on pace to hit 500 fewer homers this year than last. And last year, HR's were down 500 from 2006. So, on this pace, this year homers will be down 1000 from 2006. The feeling is that the players have been scared straight by the Mitchell Report. All of this according to Steve Phillips on ESPN. I did not check his facts but, if true, very interesting.....
