That ball wasn't even that close. Balls hit above the foul pole are much more of a judgement call but this wasn't. It was clearly a HR and the ump running down the line looking at it called it one. How the hell does he let anyone change his mind? That is what blows my mind.

I would love to blame him...but interesting in that the bench coach gets tossed and Willie is still in the game! Willie should have gotten his ass tossed!
the bigger question is, why arent officials ever held accountable for their errors? IMO a fine if not a suspension should be in order. Blowing that kind of call is in excusable.
Clearly a three run home run and not one of them can get it right???
Initially, the correct call was made by the 3rd base ump. The home plate ump had no business coming out and changing the call. He was 40 to 50 yards further away than the 3rd base ump.
It's getting old complaining about the officiating in all sports. I'll echo what I've said for years. It makes no sense using 50 and 60 year old men officiating sports played by superb athletes in their 20s and 30s. It's common sense. In our 20s and 30s our eyesight is still excellent. With age it deteriorate. I had lasix surgery last year. Even with the surgery I don't see as well as I did 15-20 years ago.
