    trying to think if this has ever happened before

    i know Bonds won it 4 years in a row but a different player winning the mvp 3 years straight

    It's happened before, twice I think...I'll try to find out when the last time it happened...I think in the 50s.

      Here ya go:

      The last time it happened was during World War II, when Mort Cooper (1942), Stan Musial (1943) and Marty Marion (1944) did it for the St. Louis Cardinals. The Reds did it during 1938-40, when Ernie Lombardi, Bucky Walters and Frank McCormick, respectively, won the award.

      Not sure if it's happened in the AL. I don't think Ut will win it this year...Berkman and Chipper are doing really good right now.

          he won player of the Month honors.Brandon Webb might be his biggest challenge.Thinking all the offense will cancel each other out

            Not sure if they will ever give the MVP to a pitcher, but if Webb goes 25-3, I can't see how they can't.

              Gooden and Guidry had dominant years and were never MVP.
