  • Thurs pick/s---Miami & MLB opinion

    Late lines today and did not get a chance to post but took the A's on a 3* and the over 8.5 on a 1*.

    Wouldn't ya know they would pile up 6 in the second inning and here it is in the 8th inning at........yep........5-1 still...sheesshh!

    Maybe the "Bungster" will come in for the ninth and get his 3 runs out of the way in a game that won't matter for him!!

    Nothing big to write home about on the evening games but have been having good luck CFB and hence will take:

    2*==>MIAMI -25.5

    Coker has been verrrrrrrry disappointed in his offense and has told them to turn it up tonight in preparation for FSU or they will have a big "L" to talk about. Combine that with a mushy to very bad WV defense it looks to be one sided out of the gate. Would not surprise me to see a 40-13 type score for a tight cover though. All those points are tempting but 40 will probably be a little bit low.

    *1/2==>TWINS +100 R/L +1.5

    This is probably a reach with Minns notorious history of not hitting quality lefties at all this year. But will bank a small shot on Radke bringing his miniscual ERA and playoff moxey along for a tight game.

    I would have an opinion also on the over here only because logic dictates that the Yanks should get a bunch BUT......if the Yanks manage to win this series THAT will be as far as they go. They are a shell of past years. Also look for the Twins to rip Clemens early and often at the Metrodome in game three.

    So tonight will just play Miami and change on the Twins and try and take a small profit into tomorrow.

    BEST OF LUCK TO EVERYONE TONIGHT!! GoldV

    Any thoughts on the total in the Twinkies game? Kind of leaning to the under in that one but Pettite has been hit hard in his previous post season appearances. GL!

      The lean I had

      up on the other thread was over 8.5 at even money right now and I believe the under is at -120. Again.....Radke's history is that the Yankees have pounded him into oblivion.....but Brad has been unhittble as of late. The Twins never hit lefties and especially good ones. Pettitt has a stellar won/lost record in the last dozen or so outings but the Yanks now have a certain amount of "uncertainty" in themselves as a team.

      Twins probable starter: Radke (14-10, 4.49 ERA). The right-hander's only start against the Yankees this year came during his poor first half. Radke pitched five innings and allowed nine hits and seven runs in an 11-4 loss April 18 at the Metrodome. He has struggled throughout his career against the Yankees, going 3-9 with a 4.92 ERA in 14 starts. Radke is 2-1 with a 1.96 ERA in three postseason outings.

      Yankees probable starter: Pettitte (21-8, 4.02). The left-hander is 3-3 with a 4.65 ERA in 10 ALDS starts, and 10-7 with a 4.49 ERA in the playoffs. Pettitte won 16 of his final 18 decisions this season, erasing questions about the elbow problems that plagued him in 2002. He won both his starts against the Twins this season, 7-3 on April 8 at Yankee Stadium and 4-2 on April 19 at the Metrodome. Pettitte is 7-5 with a 3.71 ERA in 16 starts against Minnesota.

      BOTTOM LINE HERE IS THAT EVERYTHING AND EVERYONE IS POINTING TO THE UNDER 8.5 RUNS. Hence my opinion on taking the OVER 8.5! My last 3 totals have not hit (each missing by a 1/2 run (OVER ATL), 2 runs(UNDER A's "Fucking Bunghole Kim in the ninth) and 2.5 runs today with 6 in the second and zippo after that) so maybe follow the WIZ TONIGHT ON THIS ONE as he was 2-0 LAST NIGHT!

      BEST OF LUCK MAX!! Hope this helps you decide.....a no play for me though! Gold
