Dallas vs. San Jose (-135 , 5)
The Sharks continued their playoff pattern of inconsistency by bouncing back with a great effort in Game 4 following a few suspect performances prior to that.
San Jose played like a desperate team on the brink of elimination in a high-flying, hard-htting – although low-scoring – 2-1 win Wednesday night. Now the team heads home and the big question for bettors is, will the Sharks show the same effort again?
Even if they do, it won’t guarantee any wins. The Stars didn’t play their best game on Wednesday and it was still only two mistakes that made the difference.
Sergei Zubov made a bad turnover to give Patrick Marleau a breakaway goal and the Sharks scored on a power play after Mike Madano picked up a delay of game penalty for shooting the puck over the glass.
Don’t expect the Stars to make the same mistakes in Game 5. At the same time, we can’t bank on another great effort from San Jose based on what we’ve seen from this on-again, off-again team these playoffs.
