Does anyone else think Matt Ryan is overrated?

If it was just Dave Wannestadt who said he couldn't play, why didn't he transfer to a D-1 school?

Suggesting that Palko's dad has any influence on who starts at QB is laughable. Wannestadt is paid a ton of cash, and has been an NFL coach, I really don't think he's sitting on pins and needles waiting for a small time HS coach to give inputs on his sons ability.

If Flacco was the better player, he would have played. Plain and simple.

The whole draft hype is overrated, glad its over. Lets get back to real sports not this fantasy shit. Brady was a 6th rounder, shows how much these picks really mean.

To respond to an earlier post Brohm at Louisville was in the westcoast offense and alot of teams that dont run that thought his arm was below average to make the throws not in a west coast offense, he went to the Packers a westcoast offense

I think you can flip a coin with every QB out of College. Some of the top drafted QB's like Leaf, A. Smith and Mirer never work out and sometimes you get Manning and it does. First round, sixth round, it just doesn't matter. It is all about the QB and whether or not the "System" he is drafted into fits him or not. We'll see after he plays some games i guess.

here is where everyone laughs at me but only time will tell as stated above. Joe Flacco, yes, Joe Flacco drafted by the baltimore ravens IMO will turn out to have the best career of this QB class. With the QB's to choose from I don't think Ryan was overrated. brennan ? woodson ? ainge ? IMO these are NOT NFL QB"s, maybe good backups, that's about it.

flacco's doing pretty well IMO, and so is ryan, where are the other 3 i mentioned above, backups.

I mean no disrespect to you. Joe Flacco might be the best QB coming out of the draft. However, following the theme of this thread, where and how did you hear about Flacco? I never heard about Flacco until combines.

Vernon Gholston is another who's stock shy-rocketed at the combine. It had nothing to do with ESPN.

frank I am originally from the n.y/n.j area. I know many people that have played against him both in high school and college. He was originally at Pitt but was the backup behind Tyler Palko, so transfered to delaware. Now I must admit after he left Pitt I forgot all about him, I didn't know where he went, until I was talking to a friend who attends the university of Richmond and he told me about how Flacco looked great. I completely understand where your coming from thinking I just jumped on the bandwagon, and I am probably the only person on here who actually does know who he is. He might not be.Only reason I know my boy Ainge is still in the nfl is cause I saw where his ass just got suspended for performance drugs a couple of weeks ago.Ryan is going to be a GREAT qb and the Falcons will be contenders for a while

Being a Steeler fan, its great to see even with Billick gone, they still have no idea what an NFL QB is . Trading up to get a D-II QB, one that wasn't good enough to play for a pathetic Pitt team, is a total joke.

Flacco is not now, nor will ever be an NFL QB. Ravens just set their franchise back another 5 years!! Go give Lewis another extension.

Flacco and the ravens are 8-4 2nd in afc north, Flacco has lost 4 games in NFL career.

First road game ever as QB was @ pitt and balt lost 23-20

The only home game they have lost came to tennessee. (you know that team that was the best in first half of season) lost 13-10.

They lost at Indianapolis 31-3

They lost at N.y Giants 30-10

so flacco's 4 losses have come to pitt (9-3) Tenn (11-1) Indy (8-4) and Giants (11-1)

thanks for the props vols, i didn't even see your post before i started quoting all my flacco posts. and yes i agree the rest can hold clipboards if they have clipboards to hold while ryan, tries for playoffs, flacco can still make playoffs also.

Glad for both guys as these 2 IMO were the best "guys" they didn't come with baggage or controversy or special treatment on a loaded college team. matt ryan did nothing but win games while keeping his mouth shut, and flacco pretty much did the same. i like that style.
