Congrats to Smoltz--really was never a big fan of his but he has shown longevity and is looking like he is 30 years old right now...with his hat on of course!

Watch out senior pga tour when he's done with baseball.He's good friends with Tiger Woods and is a scratch golfer.Ironic that Bruce Benedict catcher for the Braves when Smoltz threw his first strikeout to Darryl Strawberry is now a scout for the St Louis Cardinals and was in town on a scouting trip and got to see him get his 3,000 20 years later.

very true...he's kinda lost in the mix of maddux and glavine in the 90's, but he's carried the braves the last few years...plus, doesn't he have the most playoff wins of all time??? I know that stat is unfair due to the addition of the WC round, but it's still pressure and damn impressive!!!
