Well, it was actually a sales guy and you know the drill. This dude just called and asked if I knew who Dave Cokin was. I said "Yeah, the man under the hat, right?" He sounded all happy and told me that he just watched Dave walk into his office with 4 guys in pinstriped suits. He said that never happens. He walks out with his hat off!!!! That super duper never happens. He said he had a game that his private clients (LOL) were already unloading on, and that he himself had already hit for 3 dimes. he asked how much I played, all that bullshit, and then said he could give me this game, along with next weekend's action for just $450!!!! Would I like to use Visa or MC?
I told him I only bet $100 to $1000 per game, never more. He said he'd throw in the rest of the baseball playoffs for free!!! I told him he was doing a good job and to tell Dave I like the hard work he does, but the price is too high. He said he really shouldn't be doing this, but he'd write a ticket on his own and shave off 150 so the whole package would be just $300. I said that's still too high, but I'd do it for $100. He said he'd go find out if that's OK, don't hang up and I'll see......
He comes back and said he could do it for $225, and he'd throw in the first week of NBA. I told him I'd give him three games, and if I didn't go 2-1, I'd accept the next week's package of games for just $100. But, if I go 2-1, they'd have to give me the rest of the season free!!!! He said he couldn't authorize that without Dave and he wasn't in the office.
