I havent tallied up my playoff posts but I am having a very good run so far in the playoffs with my selections, just wish I posted more of them. Have two for tonight I feel good about.
51/52 Boston/Montreal Under 1 1/2 First Period -145
This is the seventh and deciding game of this series and I think both team will play a little conservative to start, trying to allow the other team to make a mistake and then capitalize. In addition, 6 of the 7 first periods in this series have gone under the 1 1/2 goals so for that reason alone I would be taking it. No, I am not thrilled with the vigorish, but as Wayne mentioned in his very nice Colorado GOY post winner, if the game cashes then the juice wont matter anyway.
53/54 Washington/Philadelphia Over 5 1/2 +105
Love getting a plus number on a total, first of all. Secondly, of the 5 previous games in this series the over is hitting at a 3-2 ratio, which is 60% and nothing superb by any means, but I do like the fact that both unders were games played in Washington and this one is in the City of Brotherly Love. Also, their 7 previous games leading into the playoffs hit at a 5-2 O/U ratio, 71%. And again, the two unders in those 7 were both played in Washington. So, speaking of the last 5 games played in Philadelphia, both playoff and regular season, 5 of the 5 or 100% of them (for all the math majors out there, my friends call me Captain Obvious you know) went over 5 1/2 goals. Basically what I am saying is that this has been a matchup that has cashed the over 67% percent of their games dating back to their first tilt last season and I dont see anything that tells me to go against the trend. So I wont.
Possibly back with some MLB and NBA later.
Best of luck.
