The Montreal Canadiens will travel to Boston for Game 6 if the Bruins managed to pull out a victory in Game 5 in Montreal on Thursday night.

Sunday’s NHL slate could include anywhere from two to four games. Confirmed for Sunday is Game 6 between San Jose and Calgary, and Detroit and Nashville. Sunday will also include Game 6 between Anaheim and Dallas, and Washington and Philadelphia, if necessary.

Hot lines: Friday's best MLB bets
                  ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

                  Cleveland at Minnestoa (-115, 8 1/2)

The Tribe aren't living up to the preseason hype yet, but with all the talent on this team, you know they are going to hit their stride at any moment. In the meantime, bettors can get excellent prices on the Indians.

Minnesota is also struggling to start the season and it probably won't help as they bring in Francisco Liriano for his second pro start in about year and a half after Tommy John surgery. The young lefty didn't look impressive in his first start when he gave up four runs in 4.2 innings in a loss to KC last weekend.

                  Pick: Indians

                  San Diego at Arizona (-132, 8 1/2)

This game looks like the bargain of the day. It seems like an extremely reasonable price to pay for an 11-4 team with its No. 2 starter on the mound ? although Dan Haren would be an ace on almost any other team. He's allowed only one run in each of his last two starts.

San Diego will put Greg Maddux on the hill as the veteran goes for his 350th career victory a day earlier than scheduled. Chris Young was originally scheduled to start tonight, but he had some stiffness in his elbow and needs an extra day of rest. But unless Maddux pitches a complete game, the Padres are in trouble. Their bullpen was decimated in last night's 22-inning marathon against Colorado and they're left win only one rested reliever for tonight.

                  Pick: Diamondbacks

New York Mets at Philadelphia Phillies [7:05 PM ET]

Mets: New York ace Johan Santana will try to rebound from a pair of losses after earning a victory in his debut. Santana was very shaky last time out against Milwaukee, surrendering 5 runs and 6 hits - including 3 homers - in 6 2/3 innings. He walked 2 and struck out 7 after failing to walk a batter and allowing only 1 run in his previous outing.
Mets are 2-9 in the last 11 meetings.

The OVER is 10-2 in New York's last 12 road games.
                          Key Injuries - NONE
                          PROJECTED SCORE: 1

Phillies (-115, O/U 8): Cole Hamels is coming off his best start of the season for Philadelphia, allowing just 1 hit in 7 scoreless innings of a 7-1 win over Chicago. Hamels is 2-1 with a 0.82 ERA in 3 starts overall this season, and he has gone 1-1 lifetime against the Mets in 4 starts with a 2.77 ERA.

Phillies are 15-5 in Hamels' last 20 home starts.
                          Key Injuries - NONE
PROJECTED SCORE: 7 (Side Play of the Day)

New York Yankees at Baltimore Orioles [7:05 PM ET]

Yankees (-145, O/U 10): Phil Hughes has been a disaster for the Yankees this season. In 3 starts, Hughes has given up 12 runs in only 11 innings pitched. Hughes has a 7.00 ERA in 2 road starts thus far this year. In his last outing, the young righty was lit up by the Red Sox, giving up 7 runs in just 2 innings of work.

The UNDER is 7-2 in New York's last 9 road games.
The UNDER is 7-2 in New York's last 9 games as a favorite.

PROJECTED SCORE: 8 (OVER - Total Play of the Day)

Orioles: Daniel Cabrera hasn't recorded a win personally this year, but Baltimore is a perfect 3-0 in his starts. One problem Cabrera has faced is putting runners on base. In 16 2/3 innings pitched, Cabrera has walked 12 batters, leading to a high WHIP of 1.68. The last time Cabrera faced the Yankees, he exited after giving up 10 hits and 7 runs through 3 innings.

Orioles are 6-2 in their last 8 home games.
The OVER is 9-1-1 in the last 11 meetings.

Cleveland Indians at Minnesota Twins [8:10 PM ET]

Indians (-115, O/U 8.5): Cleveland's Cliff Lee has been a nice success story so far after coming back from an abdominal injury that kept him in the minors for most of 2007. Lee has been nothing short of spectacular in 2008, giving up just 1 earned run in 14 2/3 innings with 1 walk and 12 strikeouts. The only issue is that he faced Oakland in both of his starts this season.

Indians are 1-8 in their last 9 games as a favorite.
Indians are 2-6 in their last 8 road games.

Twins: Minnesota ace Francisco Liriano looked a bit rusty in his first start following Tommy John surgery, surrendering 4 runs and 6 hits in 4 2/3 innings of a 5-1 loss at Kansas City on Sunday. Liriano walked 5 and struck out 4 in his first appearance in 17 months.
The UNDER is 8-3-1 in the last 12 meetings.
                          Key Injuries - NONE

San Diego Padres at Arizona Diamondbacks [9:40 PM ET]

Padres: Padres starter Chris Young's road struggles have continued into this season, as he was pounded for 6 earned runs in just 3 innings of work in his first away start against the Dodgers on April 12th. The lanky right-hander closed out the 2007 season on a 4-game road losing streak, allowing 25 runs in 31 innings pitched, with his team losing all 6 of those starts. Young said: "I am not putting my fastball where I want it." He was rocked in his last start against the D-Backs as well, surrendering 5 earned runs in 4 innings.

Padres are 25-54 in the last 79 meetings in Arizona.
                          Key Injuries - NONE
                          PROJECTED SCORE: 3

Diamondbacks (-155, O/U 9): Arizona starter Dan Haren is making a splash in his first 3 starts of the season with his new team. Haren is 2-0 with a 2.50 ERA on this young season and has shown great command striking out 16 while walking just 3. The right-hander doesn't have a decision in his career against the Padres, but he does hold a 1.69 lifetime ERA against them in 2 starts while in a Cardinals jersey.

Diamondbacks are 16-5 in their last 21 home games.
                          Key Injuries - NONE
                          PROJECTED SCORE: 6

Seattle Mariners at LA Angels [10:05 PM ET]

Mariners: Seattle will turn to R.A. Dickey for this start, as the team is short-handed when it comes to starting pitching with Erik Bedard on the DL due to a hip injury. Dickey's only action thus far this season was a relief appearance against the Royals on April 14th: 1 IP, 0 ER, 1 K. The right-hander features the knuckle ball and had a 2.25 ERA in Triple-A before being called up for that relief spot. Mariners manager John McLaren said: "He can do any role, and you can use him a lot."

Mariners are 10-22 in the last 32 meetings.
                          Key Injuries - NONE
                          PROJECTED SCORE: 4

Angels (-170, O/U 9.5): LA starter Joe Saunders has been outstanding on the young season so far with a 2-0 record and 1.27 ERA. Saunders said he is feeling the positive effects of a more extensive offseason throwing program with 10 strikeouts over his 3 starts. The southpaw just shut down this Mariners team back on April 13th, allowing 2 earned runs in 5 1/3 innings pitched. According to manager Mike Scioscia, he didn't even have "strong stuff."

Angels are 14-6 in Saunders' last 20 home starts.
                          Key Injuries - NONE
