    Six-pack for Tuesday

Lot of good drama Monday, especially from 10pm on.......

-- Nate McLouth crushed a dramatic, two-out, three-run HR in ninth inning off Saito, giving Pirates 6-4 win over Dodgers.

-- Randy Johnson allowed three hits, three unearned runs in five innings, with seven strikeouts in his first 2008 start.

-- Jeff Kent tied Rogers Hornsby for 23rd on all-time doubles list last night, with 523. Will Kent be a Hall of Famer?

-- Tigers trailed 5-0 in sixth inning, appeared headed to 2-11 start, but rallied to beat the Twins 11-9, a much-needed win.

-- Colorado-Minnesota went to OT for fifth straight meeting, with Bouchard scoring for Minnesota at 11:58 of OT, giving Wild 3-2 win and 2-1 lead in series...........Predators scored a couple goals in 0:09 span in 5-3 win vs Detroit (Det up 2-1).

-- Warriors lost 122-116 in Phoenix, knocking them out of the playoff hunt; Golden State led by five after three quarters. Denver Nuggets clinch the last playoff spot out west.

Tuesday's List of 13: Checking in on the National League

Diamondbacks -- Won eight of first nine vs division foes, five of six vs NL champ Rockies. Randy Johnson looked good in 2008 debut, striking out seven in five IP, allowed three runs, but none of them were earned runs.

Braves -- Lost five of first seven on road, now Glavine has bum hamstring; their pitching isn't real deep. Chipper ain't going to hit .408 all season.

Cubs -- Won six of eight games; Fukudome is hitting .318 and Derek Lee .346; now they need to get Soriano over Mendoza Line. Bullpen won their last five decisions.

Reds -- Scored total of five runs getting swept three straight at PNC, but still just game under .500 NL Central figures to be a wide-open race. Will be surprising if Reds don't hit better.

Rockies -- Allowed 29 runs in last four games, lost five of six to Arizona. They're finding out it is lot tougher to be the hunted than to be the hunter, like they were last season.

Marlins -- First-place Fish are 4-2 on road, but scored total of one run in losing last two games in Houston. Shaky starting pitching better get straightened out, or else........

Astros -- Wandy Rodriguez is off to hot start, but Oswalt is 0-3, 9.56 this month, which has to be alarming. Odd combination of older players; not sure if Astros are rebuilding or trying to win.

Dodgers -- Lost six of last seven games, scoring 11 Saturday vs Chris Young- they lost eight of last nine times they scored less than six runs. Russell Martin is still scuffling at the plate.

Brewers -- Should get Gallardo back soon, which gives them a formidable rotation, providing Sheets stays healthy. Also will get Cameron back in another couple of weeks.

Metropolitans -- They better hope Reyes' hamstring is healthy, or this offense will struggle. Church and Pagan have been help in outfield, but does this look like a $137M ballclub?

Phillies -- Rollins, Victorino are both hurting; Phils are 4-3 in last seven games, with last two losses both in extra innings. Need a fifth strarter to step in for injured Kendrick; they're 2-6 if they allow four or more runs.

Pirates -- McLouth's dramatic game-winning homer gave Bucs fourth straight win, during which time they allowed total of just eight rund; they've gotten Duke back to where he can help in rotation. If they keep improving, Pittsburgh needs to come see.

Cardinals -- Most pleasant surprise in NL so far? Look at this lineup and tell me, other than Pujols, who impresses you. Dave Duncan is turning around Kyle Lohse the way he has others in the past- why did Jeff Weaver ever leave St Louis?

Padres -- Peavy is 3-0, 1.64 already, but San Diego is 4-6 in the other ten games; they're 1-5 in game following a win, 5-1 in the game following a loss. Trevor Hoffman has been shaky early.

Giants -- Rallied to beat Arizona Monday, are playing better as they slowly integrate younger position players into the lineup. With their starting pitching, they'll be in most games late, but an OB% that was .296 before Monday has to improve.

Nationals -- Started season 3-0, are 1-9 since, scoring total of 10 runs in last four games. Last in NL, batting .232 as a team; they are getting contributions from Milledge, but they pinch-hit for Loduca Sunday, not exactly an endorsement of his skills.

Late Night Update -- San Jose grabbed 3-0 lead in first 4:00 out in Calgary Sunday night, but lost 4-3 to Flames, falling behind 2-1 in series. Calgary pulled Kiprusoff early on, and the move paid off, with Curtis Joseph getting the win in net.

Sunday night might have been last home game in Seattle Sonic history; if it was, thats a sad commentary on greed that is now all too common in pro sports. Seattle supported their team for 41 years-- they deserve much better than this.

                Tuesday NBA Gameday

Kobe Bryant and the Los Angeles Lakers will play host to the Sacramento Kings as the regular season gets closer to its finale. Here are the details in your NBA Gameday . . .

Orlando Magic at Atlanta Hawks, 7:00pm ET

The Magic are the Southeast Division champions, and they're now locked into the No. 3 seed in the Eastern Conference playoffs. The last time Orlando played in Atlanta was back on March 22, when a fourth-quarter surge by their opponents left them with a 98-90 defeat. Dwight Howard picked up 11 points and 16 rebounds that night for Orlando.

Atlanta might've already clinched a playoff berth by the time this matchup rolls around (it depends on how the Pacers fared on Monday night), but they'll still want to try and get on somewhat of a roll heading into the postseason. The Hawks have lost three of their past five contests, and they're coming off a 99-89 loss to the Celtics on Saturday night.

Minnesota Timberwolves at Detroit Pistons, 7:30pm ET

The T-Wolves aren't going to finish with the worst record in the Western Conference this season, thanks to the Sonics' woeful mark and their own current two-game winning streak. Minnesota edged Orlando 102-101 on Friday night, and they followed that up with a 114-105 victory over Memphis on Saturday. Rashad McCants tossed in 23 points.

The Pistons couldn't keep up with the Celtics in the conference standings, but they easily won the Central Division and they'll go into the playoffs as the East's No. 2 seed. Detroit is coming off back-to-back wins over the Wizards and Raptors on Friday and Sunday, and they've only lost seven of their 40 total games at home so far this season.

Los Angeles Clippers at New Orleans Hornets, 8:00pm ET

The Clippers are in the process of putting a terrible finish on a terrible regular season. Los Angeles is going to end up around 25 games back of the eighth and final playoff berth in the Western Conference, and they've currently lost five consecutive contests. In their most recent action on Saturday the Clippers were beaten 122-116 by the Warriors.

The Hornets will be hoping for a gimme game against the Clippers as they try to optimize their position in the final Western Conference standings. New Orleans can still end up in first place in the West, but losing three of their past four contests has certainly hurt their chances. New Orleans is coming off a 94-91 loss to Sacramento on Saturday.

Sacramento Kings at Los Angeles Lakers, 10:30pm ET

The Kings are going to fall short of the .500 mark this season, but with impressive wins over some of the best teams in the Western Conference over the past month they've at least been making some sort of an impact. Sacramento, though, fell 114-92 to the Lakers when they met on April 6, with Kevin Martin contributing a team-high 22 points.

Tuesday's game against the Kings will be the last of the regular season for the Lakers, so all they'll be able to do is scoreboard-watch when the final games are played on Wednesday night. Los Angeles managed to hold off Phoenix and win the Pacific Division title, and they head into Tuesday night as the winners of seven of their past 10.
