What good could come out of saying something like that? If he is right, which he was, well then big deal since they were up 26 when he said it. If wrong, he makes a complete fool of himself. Not to mention that his job is to keep people watching and the casual fan who doesnt watch much basketball may turn it off after hearing the expert announcer saying that the winner has been determined with 7 minutes to go in half. Im sure CBS was just ecstatic he said it.

I didn't have much emotion either way. I didn't bet the game and I'm not a fan of any teams in college BB. I've seen teams come back from huge deficits only to come up short or take a lead only quickly give up the lead. Teams expend so much energy coming back they have nothing left in their tank.

Billy Packer is a Very Good CBB anouncer IMO. He points out everything Nice and clear like when Memphis was just too athletic for UCLA. Thats why he has been there 30 years running, because he's GOOD.
