I agree with Rook 100%. I think many who love and follow their team closely will always be biased towards them NO MATTER what and i think Rook and his Cubs is ironically a perfect example!

But if he is just giving his opinon of the game not exactly putting HIS money on the line it might help some others.Say Tech has the Braves and Mike Hampton is starting I would expect to see:
Not putting anything on them but Mike Hampton has not started a game since Aug 2005.I think he gets rocked tonight and don't make it past the 3rd inning.

And then we can make our decision from there.

I agree,it's going to be tough.Maybe we should take another team in another leauge that we just follow.I think we all watch enough Sportscenter and read enough newspapers to pick someone else.

I think in a daily grind of baseball it is alot harder to find out or know many things that others don't hear also on Baseball tonight, sportscenter or anything else. They play, sit in a hotel room and play again. I'm not sure how much more you will know on a daily basis.

I think this would work GREAT for something like CFB where things happen on or around the campus with these kids during the week and the local flavor of being near it could be a great advantage.

I did like that alot. I asked Jimmy or Kaptain to do it last year and they did for a short time and stopped. They need alot of responses for it to work and it got less and less each day. Kaptain? Jimmy?? Where is that Kruise???

Yeah, I know. I really think it is the most effective tool on this board for BB (besides following Spark right now), but understand the volume just isn't there.

Wish there was some kind of dashboard or summary function that would show in tabular format say the picks of at minimum regular posters for games (i.e. Kapt, MCP, Wayne, Spark, GG, BW, the list goes on and on so of course I apologize to those I left off) so you could see like picks. I believe Kapt brought this up before where if certain people are all on a certain game it is strong.

I'll take the Phillies. Bet against them today ( Saturday) as Adam Eaton Blows. Also over might be a good play because phils bats are heating up and the Reds will for sure get a bunch of runs .

A great idea!

Another site has a similar concept they use in a contest for the NBA. Each contestant is assigned a team. You have to bet on or against your team each and every game.

It works best if you're not a fan of your team.

I think many of the 'seasoned' cappers can remain unbiased. During the past NFL season I bet on and against the Giants on more than one ocassion.
