Eric Gagne for the Brewers

These two rag-armed has beens enter an eight inning 0-0 shutout and give up three apiece.

Milwaukee idiotically gave Steroid Boy Gagne $10 million and the Cubs still thinking Wood is pitching in 1998.

In my opinion, neither are closers by the end of the month.

Both will be on the DL---the same place they've spent the last six years.

I didn't know until today that the Brewers signed Gagne for $10 million to be their closer. What the fuck were they thinking? Someone with average knowledge of baseball could realize that Gagne is finished after watching him perform last season. No roids and several arm surgeries later its obvious the guy is washed up. He has no life left on his fastball. Dumb move by the Brewers.

I ditto all the remarks concerning Gagne and the contract. It just goes to show you the incredible amount of money these owners make. Then at collective bargaining they all cry poor. brewers can put Mota as the closer, which would be a mistake, but they'll do it anyway.

Lou will take his time with this because they've stroked Wood's ego the whole time in his comeback. He won't (unless Wood really implodes the first couple weeks) make any changes too soon.

I have said from the beginning Marmol should be the closer so that when the Cubs are in the playoffs, he's battle tested. But Wood pitched so well in the spring that they bit. We'll see what happens..but not a good start.
