THANKS for all your time & effort on spring baseball ! I agree with your philosophy. In my opinion this system works better the last 2 weeks when the starters & pitchers are playing 5-6 innings. Also here are a couple things I look for 1) Teams that play a night game and then are on the road the next day usually do not take anyone 2) Teams that are breaking camp that day versus team that is not those teams usually do not show up mentally and are ready to go home. GOOD LUCK !!

Thanks appreciate the kind words. Also, yes I do look for those who played the day before and played mostly starters who then travel for a day or two. Usually means starters will be limited or play only one of the two games. Players like Mariano Rivera who do not travel with the team are good examples. Finding those live dogs is a challenge during Spring Training, but they are out there!!

Today: Tom Gorzelanny will make a two-inning start against the Toronto Blue Jays' Dustin McGowan, 1:05 p.m. in Bradenton, Fla. Zach Duke will pitch the next three, followed by Jimmy
Barthmaier, Damaso Marte, Casey Fossum and John Grabow.

Note almost all lefties.



Loving the Blue Jays after hearing this now. Having Gorzo only going two is much better than seeing him go three. Zach Duke has not been the same since his rookie year. Not too high on Marte either as he is too off and on for me.

Only worry for me with this game is that they were home yesterday and plyed most regulars and they are home tomorrow. I would expect not as many regulars to travel and play that long today. Vernon Wells and Frank Thomas both got 3 at bats yesterday. Rolen rios and Overbay all got 2. I would guess those three are traveling but that Wells and Thomas might not.
