So to the Nascar experts on the board. What happens to Edwards and the post race inspection? Does he just lose points and get fined and a crew chief suspension? Or do they take the win away? I read a great article today comparing this ruling to the ruling against Robbie Gordon, and the rules guy said somethig like "how can you assume Gordon's rule infraction was a 'mistake'"? He was basically saying there was no way to prove whether Gordon intended to cheat with the bumper, or it was an honest mistake with the manufacturer. And they ruled against him. So by that same application, Edwards should not be allowed to win based on him "cheating", whether he intended to or not.
Can Barack tell me what a "typical" white person is please?

Yes, he will just get fined and some points taken away. There's never really any lines drawn as to how NASCAR defines their penalties, so it's hard to compare the 2 imo. Only 2 things I know, Nascar is not a big fan of Robby Gordon, and they are of Carl Edwards. With that being said, I would bet a large amount that Carl Edwards penalty will not be near as severe as Robby's imo.

I believe he asked for a nascar expert. I'll take this one.

          To whoever the expert is.
Will they take away the win? And if not, why not if it helped him win? I don't think there has been anyone busted in a race that they won has there?

No, they will not take away the win. Yes, Jimmie Johnson got busted for having his right rear quarter panel too low after Vegas last year I believe, and I believe Edwards had something similar to what Johnson had after Dover last year as well.

That's what I read. The oil tank lid, which was going to give him more HP. Others have been busted for it, but never a winner.

Not only was it not secured, it was completely off! Others at Daytona were busted for it for not having it secured, but no one was completely missing it.

I can assure all of you that is NOT why he kicked that ass yesterday. Hell it probably made his car worse that it would have helped his car. Remember VEGAS is not DAYTONA... Horsepower and Drag isnt as big as factors on the cookie cutters!!!

Well who would determine whether it helped or not? I don't know a lot about racing, but if they are going to enforce the letter of the rules and law, then he cheated, plain and simple. Intent is not a factor according to Nascar. But I believe he is the golden boy so it will be a slap on the wrist.

The 99 team is saying the bolt backed out that holds it on. NASCAR knows wheather or not it really did. And I'm telling you that basically it reduces "DRAG" on the car. That is HUGE for places like DAYTONA and TALLADEGA but not a winning factor for places like VEGAS, TEXAS, and ATL.

Being honest with you I read yesterday where he said that when he tested at ATL. he was awful. See I also had him in a 10 people pool and my 6 people pool. But I think tha BIFF might be the way to go. Just seems like ROUSCH has something figured out that others dont.

Oh yea I also bet EDWARDS last TUESDAY at 9-1 for 60 that my cousin had owed me for a while. The only thing is its in his BODOG account.

nice little 540 on the account.Hell, put half of it on the Lakers to win it all and the other half on UNC to win it all and see what happens.I always like the Biff at Atlanta. It's going to be hard to take him first though.I think the 88 is going to win it.He runs good at Atlanta and had a damn good car at Vegas. Can the 48 turn it around.Talk about missing the set up.That is the first time I have seen him 2 laps down and not have any problems on the track or in the pits. Not to mention at the track he had won 3 in a row.
