    Unreal!
Man! I have never heard of this happening. I can't imagine a team going without a single personal foul in 40 minutes! I think I should investigate this a little. It would be very interesting to know if this is a first. It must be. I'll report later.

Pick 'n' roll: Tuesday's best NBA bets
          ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Orlando at New Jersey (4, 203.5)

When the Nets traded Jason Kidd last week, it seemed to be an admission that they were writing off this season and planning for the future. Instead, the move has sparked an upturn in their form which could see them taking one of the playoff spots in the East.

The Nets have won and covered in two of three games since the departure of Kidd. They have won five of seven games overall and a victory tonight will secure their first five-game home winning streak of the season. New Jersey is outscoring opponents by an average of 10.5 points over that home period.

Marcus Williams and Richard Jefferson have carried the can for the new-look Nets. Williams is averaging 12.2 points per game over the last four contests, while Jefferson had a season-high 36-points against Indiana in a 102-91 win on Saturday.

          Pick: Nets

          Cleveland at Milwaukee (2.5, 199)

Cleveland acquired four new players last Thursday and handed all of them a debut on Sunday against Memphis. The Cavs must have liked what they saw because the team clicked almost instantly despite only practicing together a couple of times.

Ben Wallace started at power forward and had a season-high 12 points and 10 rebounds in the 109-89 win. Wally Szczerbiak and Joe Smith scored in the double figures, while starting point guard Delonte West had five points and six assists.

LeBron James looked comfortable with his new teammates too, producing 25 points, 11 assists and seven rebounds.

James is averaging 29.8 points against the Bucks in his career and had one of his four 50-point performances against them. Milwaukee has lost eight of its last nine against Cleveland.

          Pick: Cavaliers

          Portland at L.A. Lakers (-15.5, 201)

The Lakers are officially the hottest team in the NBA, having won eight consecutive games both straight up and against the spread. They put that streak on the line tonight against a visiting Portland team that will likely be without its best player.

The Lakers demolished Seattle on the road in their last game, coming out 111-91 winners to cover an 11-point spread. All five starters scored in the double-digits and L.A. won despite having Kobe Bryant ejected from in the third quarter for arguing a call.

The Blazers, meanwhile, will likely be without Brandon Roy, who aggravated an ankle injury in Sunday's 112-102 loss to Boston. Roy leads Portland in points (19.3), assists (5.7), and steals (1.1) this season, and it lost three straight games the last time he was sidelined.

          Pick: Lakers

            Tennessee at Vanderbilt (+2, 160.5)

Tennessee didn't get much time to celebrate the first No. 1 ranking in school history before facing its first big challenge from that position. Following a thrilling weekend victory, the top-ranked Volunteers visit No. 18 Vanderbilt on Tuesday night in an SEC matchup.
Tennessee (25-2, 11-1) heads into Memorial Gym one day after taking over the top spot in the AP poll. The Volunteers claimed the top spot after Saturday's 66-62 road win over then-No. 1 - and unbeaten - Memphis.

The Volunteers' schedule isn't getting much easier. After visiting the Commodores (23-4, 8-4), Tennessee hosts Kentucky on Sunday. The Wildcats are two games behind Tennessee in the SEC East. The Volunteers defeated Vanderbilt 80-60 at home on Jan. 17, but Pearl doesn't expect another easy win Tuesday.

"I'm not concerned with the ranking other than it makes the prize even bigger for Vanderbilt or any other team that will play us," he said.
Tennessee has lost three of its last four visits to Vanderbilt, although the Vols covered the spread in three of them. Overall, Tennessee has covered in eight of their last 10 meetings with Vanderbilt

            Pick: Vanderbilt

Ohio State at Indiana (-8, 131)

Amid the turmoil of a recruiting scandal, an ensuing coaching change and rumors of a player boycott, Indiana has managed to string together an impressive three-game winning streak.

Indiana has played well through difficult times. The Hoosiers moved back into contention for the Big Ten title with home wins over Michigan State and Purdue last week and covered the spread in both, even though the Sampson investigation was by then hanging publicly over the program.

Ohio State (17-10, 8-6) has lost four of its last five games in Bloomington, but the Hoosiers haven't managed a two-game sweep of the Buckeyes since the 1997-98 season. But they have covered in the last three meetings.

Earlier this year, the Hoosiers beat Ohio State 59-53 in Columbus on Feb. 10. Including that game, the Buckeyes have lost three of four, and may be in need of a defining win to help their case for an at-large bid to the NCAA tournament.

Ohio State has come up on the wrong end of a lot of close games this year, but it hasn’t helped against the spread. They’ve covered just one of their last six games and are 11-12 ATS overall.

            Pick: Indiana

Drake at Missouri State (+2, 136)

Drake has already clinched its first regular-season Missouri Valley Conference title in 37 years, is coming off a road win over a top 10 opponent and finishes against two of the worst teams in the league. Coach Keno Davis, though, doesn't want to see his squad stumble and have it impact potential seeding in the NCAA tournament.

The 20th-ranked Bulldogs look to avoid a letdown and pick up a rare win at Missouri State on Tuesday.
The Bulldogs have won their first regular-season conference title since 1971, and appear to have all but locked up their first NCAA tournament berth since that year.

While Drake, which was picked to finish ninth in the MVC, is enjoying a remarkable season, Davis wants his team to finish on a high note against eighth-place Missouri State (14-15, 6-10) and last-place Wichita State.

"Especially at the end of the season, games always take on more importance, whether you're trying to get into the NCAA tournament or for seeding in your conference tournament or if you're already in you're looking for seeding in the NCAA," Davis said. "We haven't talked a whole lot about end-of-season goals. ... We just want to try to get better by the time our conference tournament ends up."

            Pick: Drake

                    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ice picks: Tuesday's best NHL bets
                    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

                    Minnesota vs. Washington (+100, 5.5)

Neither one of these teams have been able to score much lately.

A rather cold Alex Ovechkin has left the Caps averaging just two goals per game over its last eight and the Wild have scored just three goals in their last three games. Ovechkin hasn't scored a goal in his last five games, which some are linking directly to the recent arrival of his new girlfriend from Russia.

The Wild, meanwhile, don't have any puck bunny issues that we know of but it's tough to attract the lady friends when you hold your most recent opponent to just 16 shots and you still lose the game. That's what happened last time out in a 2-1 loss against the Flames, who just took over first place in the Northwest from Minnesota.

                    Pick: under 5.5

                    Colorado vs. Calgary (-150, 5.5)

It's not easy to win games when you have the worst power play in the league. Just ask the Avs, who are scoring at a pitiful 12 percent clip on the man advantage this season.

Even more disgusting is that Colorado is 1-for-31 on the PP over its last seven games. They have just 10 goals and won just one game during that embarrassing stretch.

Good news for Avs bettors: Captain Joe and sniper Paul Stastny are finally back from injuries and they should help. The sneaky Avalanche also picked up Peter Forsberg in an unexpected announcement yesterday, though he won?t be ready until the weekend.

The trouble is, Sakic and Stastny looked rusty last game and Stastny even bungled a wide open net on the power play late in the third that would have tied things with Edmonton. The two will likely need a couple more games before they can start filling the score sheet.

                    Pick: Calgary

                    Detroit vs. Edmonton (+130, 5)

Guess who the worst team in the NHL is right now? The first-place Red Wings, that's who.

The Wings have lost eight of their last nine games as they head to Edmonton for the final game of a five-game West Coast road trip. Scoring goals has been the biggest issue with just 1.2 per game over their last five.

But now they have another issue: a lack of healthy defenseman. In addition to the previously injured Brian Rafalski and Nicklas Lidstrom, Chris Chelios now looks doubtful tonight with a chipped bone in his right leg.

That makes it tough to love the Wings at -140 or higher and they'll likely have to score at least a few to win with the defensive corps so banged up.

                    Pick: over five goals

Cleveland Cavaliers at Milwaukee Bucks (8 PM ET)

The new-look Cavs are coming off a 109-89 rout of Memphis on Sunday behind 25 points, 11 assists and 7 rebounds from star LeBron James. Ben Wallace added a season high-tying 12 points and 10 rebounds while starting at power forward, and new point guard Delonte West added 5 points and 6 assists. EDGE: CAVS
Milwaukee has won its last 2 home games against quality opponents, beating Detroit right after the All-Star break and then rallying back from 23 points down to defeat Denver on Saturday night. “Major wins against quality teams, that’s encouraging,” Bucks star Michael Redd said. “We have to come out every game, from here on out, with an attitude.” EDGE: BUCKS
Cavs are 8-2 ATS in their last 10 road games.
Cavs are 15-4 ATS in their last 19 games vs. Central Division.

The UNDER is 11-5 in the last 16 meetings.

Washington Wizards at Houston Rockets (8:30 PM ET)

The Rockets are going for their 13th straight win, and they are an impressive 10-2 ATS during their current 12-game winning streak. BIG EDGE: ROCKETS
Washington has dropped 10 of its last 13 games but will be going for its third straight win for the first time since the middle of January. The Wizards are coming off a thrilling win over New Orleans on Monday in which DeShawn Stevenson hit a game-winning 3-pointer at the buzzer. They are still just 4-8 without leading scorer Caron Butler, who missed his 9th straight game with a strained hip flexor. SLIGHT EDGE: WIZARDS
The OVER is 7-3 in the last 10 meetings.
The OVER is 8-2 in Washington's last 10 road games.
The UNDER is 7-3 in Houston's last 10 games overall.

Portland Trail Blazers at Los Angeles Lakers (10:30 PM ET)

The Lakers have won 8 straight games both SU & ATS. They have absolutely dominated opponents during their winning streak, cashing 3 of their last 4 games as double-digit favorites. In their last 5 games, the average margin of victory has been nearly 20 points. BIG EDGE: LAKERS
Portland will be without leading scorer Brandon Roy due to an ankle injury. The Blazers played without Roy recently due to a death in the family and lost two games by a combined 17 points at Detroit and Indiana. EDGE: LAKERS
Lakers are 37-18-1 ATS in their last 56 games overall.
Blazers are 17-5 ATS in the last 22 meetings.
Blazers are 4-17 ATS in their last 21 games overall.

Ohio State at #12 Indiana (ESPN | 7 PM ET)

The Hoosiers had covered 4 of 5 before barely beating Northwestern on Saturday in the first game under interim head coach Dan Dakich. They trailed at halftime 37-35 before battling back for an 85-82 victory. Though very talented, the team's motivation is definitely under the microscope now without former head coach Kelvin Sampson around. As freshman Eric Gordon said: "He wasn't just like a coach. He was more like a father to us. We just miss him." EDGE: OHIO STATE
The Buckeyes have dropped 3 of 4 and are coming off a 58-53 home loss to Wisconsin on Sunday. That setback means it will be an uphill battle the rest of the way for the defending NCAA finalists, who got off to a promising 12-3 start but have gone 5-7 since then. EDGE: INDIANA
Indiana has covered 3 straight in the series despite losing twice SU. The Hoosiers had won 3 of the previous 4 meetings.
Ohio State is 1-5 ATS in its last 6 games overall.
The OVER is 6-1 in Indiana's last 7 games overall.
The UNDER is 9-2 in Ohio State's last 11 games overall.

Southern Illinois at Bradley (ESPN2 | 7 PM ET)

Southern Illinois has won 4 straight games - the school's longest winning streak of the season. During the streak, the Salukis have made 40-of-83 shots from three-point range. EDGE: SOUTHERN ILLINOIS
The Salukis have averaged 10.7 fewer points on the road this season, which has translated into a disappointing 2-9 record away from home. EDGE: BRADLEY & UNDER
