Ice picks: Monday's best NHL bets

Philadelphia vs. Buffalo (-170, 6)
The Flyers have lost Simon Gagne for the season. Jeffrey Lupul is out. They have lost 10 games in a row and are one loss away from setting a franchise record. And to top off the misery, team leading scorer Mike Richards is out with a torn hamstring.
Richards suffered the injury in a 2-1 loss to Florida Saturday night and now the Flyers will have to snap out of their funk without his 63 points in 62 games.
The Sabres have won the only two meetings in this series this season.
Pick: Buffalo -170 and under six goals
Toronto vs. Ottawa (-205, 6)
The biggest hockey story coming out of the weekend is that Leafs captain Mats Sundin will not waive his no-trade clause and allow the team to deal him by Tuesday's trade deadline.
This leaves Toronto fans spilt down the middle. They love Sundin for his loyalty or they resent him for being a stumbling block in the team's hopes to rebuild. Maybe both.
Such is the life of a Leaf fan.
Whatever the case, you can't deny Sundin's leadership for Toronto over the years. If you're one of his teammates, you almost have to respond for him.
Then again, this is the Leafs.
Pick: Toronto
