I think this is a decent bet for the Oscars tonight.

I am going with the field which includes Cate Blanchett and Laura Linney. The other two in the category that I think have a good chance of winning are Marion Cotillard and Ellen Page, both first time nominees. Julie Christie won back in the 70s and she has already won the Golden Globe and SAG awards. Maybe they go with the old guard, but it is common for these awards to try and distinguish themselves by going with someone different. In this case, it would also make the Oscars look fresh and young and they have two excellent choices.
