My point is, and was, that the nat'l media and public in general keep referring to the schedule they have been fortunate to get, which by now is absurd at best.
I am a lifelong Rockets fan, who was skeptical when the season began, and when the streak hit 12 and Yao got hurt, was even more pessimistic. But I have always prided myself on my ability to remain objective, since I have gambled for 30+ years.
I have made many plays against the teams I love, using the angle that I am more in tune with their strengths and weaknesses than the average Joe, much like Hawaii Guy on other boards regarding the Hawaii football and basketball program.
I was one of the few who jumped on Detroit Pistons a few years back and won 7:1 futures bets against the obviously heavily favored Lakers. I see things my way, and when I think I am onto something, I try to share.
The facts of this streak are that of the 22 straight wins, 9 have been against winning teams, and most act like having Dirk out, or Gasol out, or whatever "breaks" the Rox have caught, are fluky, causing this illegitimate run.
I do not bet with my heart, EVER, and I just got my feathers ruffled this time when the press insinuated that the Rockets are not a contending team, and that this streak is meaningless.
Believe you me, all, if the Toronto Raptors, or Los Angeles Clippers, or even the Boston Celtics ( my boyhood fave) ran off 22 in a row, I would have to admit it is impressive. That is the objective neutral observer speaking, and I think more gamblers would be better served by being a little more neutral.
I am through talking about it. I have made many valid and insightful points on sports-related matters in my two years here, and it seems that noone gives a fuck about my opinion, or how it came to be. I have been in this game for many years, and have met and known many athletes, movie stars, celebs, whatall, and am seriously totally ambivalent regarding my status here or on any internet chat board, and only tried to point out things to the drippy-nosed knuckleheads wet behind the ears, for the betterment of all.
I have given up on trying to have reasonable debates here, but unless I am banned, I will continue to read the opinions of the conspiracy theorists, homers, and high school flunkies that help me make my decisions.
I truly believe the Rox will beat the Celts ( of course...Ray Allen is probably out!), and win a few more, before eventually losing, maybe a couple in a row!!!!
But even if they don't, the facts are there, for anyone who cares to stay in reality.
Still love you fuckers, but I think I'll just let things be as they are, and lurk in the shadows. You can't always get what you want, but if you try some time, you might find, you get what you need.

For the record, I started one post when the streak hit 16.
I have continued to post in this thread , and that one. ( 2 total)
Sorry if I offended anyone by identifying a 19-3 ATS trend in this gambling forumYou can't always get what you want, but if you try some time, you might find, you get what you need.

Will u have an excuse IF they win tonight? Im a lifelong rocket fan as well and this run is remarkable...down right unbelieveable almost especially after losing yao...Lakers lost Gasol and lost 2 games in a row...Dallas had Dirk out one game and lost that...We lose our all-star center and kept on trucking...and I believe our division plays all the similar opponents i could be wrong...like Gpa says...keep hating and keep fading...ill be on Houston - the points tonight...
