Here is my take on Pittsburgh vs. Tennessee.
I'm not very impressed with the play of the Steelers so far this season. They looked great against the Ravens in their opener and got past the Bengals last week, but against the one very good team that they faced in Kansas City, they were out played in all aspects of the game. I am more impressed with the play of the 2-1 Titans. Even in their loss at Indy, they held the Colts under 300 yards of total offense. The Titans have dominated this series, winning 9 out of the last 11 meeting straight up and I look for that to continue here again. I am not convinced that the Steelers have addressed their problems in the secondary as they allowed the Chiefs to gain 320 yards in the air, and their special teams play has also been poor. The Steelers have also been struggling running the ball, they finally managed to get it going last week, but that was against the Bengals. I don't see them being able to run well against the Titans, they will have to throw the ball to put points on the board. The Titans are 14-4 against the spread in road games after a home win by 10 points or more since 1992 while the Steelers are only 3-8 against the spread in their last eleven home games. The OVER is 9-1 in the last ten meetings between these two teams.
My prediction: TITANS 31 STEELERS 27
I would play Tennessee +3.5
and over 44
Hope this helps,
John
