  • A little info for monday night

Just for openers: The Bears have played home games at six different stadiums-and have won their first game in each facility.

As the Decatur Staleys, they opened Staley Field in 1920 with a 20-0 win over the Moline Tractors. As the Chicago Staleys in 1921, they christened Cubs Park with a 16-13 victory over the Rochester Jeffersons and beat the Portsmouth Spartans indoors at the Chicago Stadium in 1932.

The Bears defeated the Philadelphia Eagles 20-16 at Northwestern's Dyche Stadium in 1970, edged the Pittsburgh Steelers 17-15 at Soldier Field in 1971 and beat the Minnesota Vikings 27-23 in their first game in Champaign last season.

    interesting, but. . .

. . . two problems with the logic:

    1) Arguably, this will not be a "different" stadium for the Bears--just a renovated Soldier Field.

    2) I think the Rochester Jeffersons would open as 7.5 point road favorites over this Bear squad!

Thank you for the insight, though! Go Bears!
