I know alot of people here lost $$$ on the Pats, what i feel was due to a weak/somewhat aged "D" and a an offensive line that did not show up.
However, I was really impressed by yet another great performance by Welker.
That little dude is really what an offense needs.

It made no sense that Miami gave him to New England.

This young man has amazed me ever since both OU & Okie State passed on him but Tx Tech gave him a chance out of High School. Then, I believe everyone passed on him in the draft and Miami gave him a chance.

the only reason he was passed by is that he's 5'10 and white......thats the bottom line....and the truth....He's AWESOME...And Troy Aikman says that he can't be covered....

I think he is listed at 5' 9" and that is a stretch.

Couldnt agree more. He was basically unstoppable in the SB and pretty much has been all year. I played Welker over 7.5 receptions. Only prop bet out of about 6 that I won.

Agreed. Welker is a handful. He had a great season.

He was passed on due to his size. It's still a league dominated by white owners, GMs and coaches. I doubt he was passed on due to his color.

Welker was passed up because he was misused by his previous teams. He is STRICTLY a slot wr over the middle, and probably the best at it in the NFL.

Let's not forget Brady will make most receivers better. Last season, who was throwing the ball to Welker?

Still surprised Miami gave him up, but San Diego is definetly kicking themselves also. They initially picked him up as a free agent and I think he played one or two games for them before they gave him up. He'd fit in nicely with the Chargers.

He was a gret slot receiver at Texas Tech but at 5'9" or so it is obvious most colleges would pass. I read an article that his mom wrote a letter all D1 schools at the time and only a handful even responded.
