I'm on a modest three game streak in the NBA, winning easily Friday with the Warriors. The college play is only my third of the season.
1* Mavericks +5
I continue to look for favorable places to play west teams vs. the east. The Mavs had two full days of rest after a tough loss at Boston and had won 12 of 14 before that game. The Pistons won by only a point Thur night against the Lakers and even if they win here, it's likely to be another close game.
1* Minnesota +1 1/2
Wisconsin is coming off a big home win Thursday against Indiana and plays rival Iowa next. They could let down here. Minnesota is playing fairly well under Tubby Smith but can't seem to get a breakthrough home upset. Today's a good shot for them as they come home with momentum off an easy road win over Michigan.

I'd make this a full play except I've been burned by laying big numbers on New England each of the last three weeks and I don't want to chase them. On the other hand, a breakout game is looming here as the Giants' momentum was likely cooled by the two week layoff. Give Belichick two weeks to prepare and he'll likely have something to disrupt Eli Manning. KEY TO THE GAME: Giants defensive backs are very thin and the brilliant New England pass game won't be able to stop them. If New York falls behind, it may have to pass more than normal and that could result in Manning mistakes.
