Bama +4.5
(3-0 SEC PICKS)
Gottfried is 9-3 as a home dog of 6 points of less. 2 of those losses were in overtime, and he lost the spread by one point each Cinncy in 2000, Miss State. As I stated in one of my earlier post Pearl is horrible ATS as a fav on the road of 6 or less, one of the reasons I played UK +5.5 one week ago. Tenn is also 0-8 ATS against Bama last 8 times. Still working out my total numbers, but I'm leaning to the over right now. Tenn shoots great from 3pt land, and Bama is one of the worst at defending the 3 in the country. Bama has switch to a 2-3 zone since 2nd half of Arkansas, but Lofton has been shooting teams out of zones all year.
Another reason I'm playing the tide tonight is because they finally have some stability at the PG postion. Hollinger replaced a couple of frosh that had shots running the show, but turned the ball over way too much-hollinger is 2nd in SEC at assist to TO ratio-so think Bama will be better suited against that press. Also, Bama has finally figured out its rotaion-only going 8 deep, as opposed to 10 earlier this season. Gee gets a lot of time at PF slot now, so this teams is a lot quicker, but really doesn't lose anything in the Reb game- top 20 in country. With that said it will be tough for the Vols to match up down low with Richard Hendrixs-Duke Crews is hurt, and they are very thin upfront.
be back in a bit.
best of luck,
