January 25, 2008 Monte Carlo on Fire A fire is burning at the top of the Monte Carlo. Firefighters are not yet on the scene, but television coverage shows that the fire is serious. We will update throughout the day.


January 25, 2008 Water on the Roof Water from hoses on the roof is now visible from the TV coverage and appears to be slowing the spread of the fire, at least directly on the roof. Part of the Monte Carlo logo has been destroyed. The Strip has been blocked off.

Its on cnn. Completely evacuated. The fire is under control and almost out.

I got in trouble there with the wife. Started playing blackjack at 9pm. She came down to check on me at 6am. Then again at 8am on her way shopping. She told me to stop drinking beer at that time. So I switched to Bloody Marys. When she got back at 11am to see me still sitting there, she was a little pissed.

See I am lucky almost stayed there and opted for TI at the last minute .

Looking out my window now ... down the Strip and all I see is backed up traffic .... no flame no smoke even .... weird .
