GL guys with your NE teaser. But I am telling you. Chargers are 8-0 (ATS and SU) in the last 8 games. Only 1 team scored more than 20 points in that span. And that was Indy last week. This is a very different team (offensively/defefensively) that NE saw in week 2.
On Offense:
LT may not played well, but Michael Turner is pretty good himself. I bet that Maroney will be his back up if he was playing for NE. He is probably a better runner than LT if the weather is a factor. Bigger and more powerful and faster than LT. You guys are forgetting about Jackson/Chambers. These are two top notch receivers. Big, tall and fast too. Everyone is forgetting that this team went 14-2 last year and the offense ranked in the top 3. And that was with a very inexperiece receiving group. Now, that Jackson is finally getting it and the addition of veterans Chambers. This is a pretty good double thread.
On the Defense: Castillo was hurt in the 1st game. He is healthy now. He will put some pressure at the line. All pro Anotnio Cromartie. What can you say about the guy. he is a stud! That Int for TD (but called back) last week. You ca see he is pretty good. Guess who finally started in these final 8 games? Cromartie. In only 8 games and he lead the league in INT. That got to tell you something. He can handle Moss by himself. Big, fast and very physical. He has been talking to Prime Time on a weekly bases. Both graduated from FSU.
Also, in the 1st game, you have 2 inside LB that just have their 2nd starts (Cooper and Wilhelm) ever. Now with some times there, they are more experience. Cooper had 16 tackles last week.
I know you can't hrow comparison, but 2 teams SD and NE played against in the recent weeks. (Indy and Baltimore)
SD spanked Baltimore and NE was very lucky for a late penalty to win it.
Indy too should have won against NE. Look what SD was able to do against Indy not once, but twice.
Something to think about Chargers' D (last 8 games winning streak):
11/25 vs Ravens won 32-14
12/2 vs Chiefs won 24-10
12/9 vs Titans won 23-17
12/16 vs Lions won 51-14
12/24 vs Broncos won 23-3
12/30 vs Raiders won 30-17
1/6 vs Titans won 17-6
1/13 vs Colts won 28-24
Here is Pats' D in the last 8 games:
11/18 vs Bills won 56-10
11/25 vs Eagles won 31-28
12/3 vs Ravens won 27-24
12/9 vs Steelers won 34-13
12/16 vs Jets won 20-10
12/23 vs Dolphins won 28-7
12/29 vs Giants won 38-35
12/12 vs Jags won 31-20
Colts is the only team able to get over 20 points.
As for Pats, 4 teams able to score over 20. Look at how Ravens did to them and against SD. And Pats only able to score 20 vs Jets in a cold and wet condition (maybe similar to what we may have this Sunday). I am not so sure they can score that much against this Defense which is 10 times better than the Jets.
I am grabbing the ML right, as I think this line will get lower +630 at 5dimes.
