The Cubs have signed Jon Lieber to a one-year, $3.5 million deal. Lieber will compete for the last spot in the rotation, with Ryan Dempster and Sean Marshall representing his main competition. He held a 4.73 ERA in 14 games (12 starts) last year with the Phillies in the first half but missed the second half after suffering a ruptured tendon in his right foot.

Russ Davis is a friend of mine and he played for Dusty for like 5 or 6 years and he loved Dusty..... Russ is country boy from Hueytown, Alabama.... He really wasn't the San Fran type of guy... This had gotten into his head.... Russ said that Dusty saw what was going on and every home game, when guys would come in a few hours before the game for throwaround and BP, Dusty would have a home cooked southern meal for him in his locker..... Dusty is alright in my book.
Russ also said Barry is all about Barry but in no way does he deserve this bullshit from the law or the media... The greatest hitter he's ever seen.Comment
