  • MNF: Denver -3 in first half

I am nervous about this game.

Oakland could get it together and beat Denver - regardless of how the two have played so far this season.

    Record:

    College 13 - 15

NFL 9-4 (been lucky - could reverse soon)

Being nervous AND admitting it is refreshing....with you on
denver first half....and I lean to denver on the game....oakland has to prove they have it together ...I think oakland's last 2 games have shaken their confidence. gl

You sure had the game pegged.

I bet Denver, but did not have your confidence.

Northcoast picked Oakland. I think Northcoast over-emphasizes how they rate players and teams, and ignore how the teams have been performing. They rate players, lines, secondaries, run defenses, etc., for each team, and use these ratings to rate the team. They had Oakland and Tampa Bay rated at the top at the start of the season, based on their player/team ratings. Oakland has played poorly this year, before Monday night against Denver, but Northcoast let their pre-season rating overshadow how the two teams have played. Denver had played as well as anyone before last night, and Oakland had not played well - Denver was the obvious choice based on how the teams have performed.

The MNF outcome was not surprising in looking at how the two teams had been playing, but was a shock in terms of Northcoast's thinking, in rating team components at the beginning of the season, and considering that Oakland could be ready to play their first good game of the season.

Now, when will teams like Chicago and San Diego start playing up to their potential? Arizona did last Sunday.

Hard to figure. You figured right on the Denver win - that Oakland was still not ready to play well.
