The following play was posted in my earlier threads, without write-up, at the line I obtained at the time. While the number has dropped I still strongly recommend the play.
I went 1-1 in the playoffs, hitting a big 3* on the Seahawks and losing a 1* on the Bucs.
2* Ohio State +5
(Line has now dropped to 3 1/2). This is my top bowl play.
1) Bowl games are usually won by the team with more success running. No one has run against Ohio State all year and I don't think LSU will. On the other hand, Beanie Wells has been unstoppable and LSU's run defense is good but not great;
2) Les Miles is NOT a good game coach and Jim Tressel is brilliant;
3) Ohio State flopped in the title game last year and has been focused on returning ever since;
4) Ohio State has killed everybody all year except Illinois;
5) While LSU's only losses have been in OT, they haven't soundly beaten a good team since Virginia Tech in September;
6) Ohio State's defense is giving up only ten points a game and while their schedule has been attacked, they did beat Michigan, Penn State and Wisconsin down the stretch;
7) The POINTS!!!!---there is a very good chance this will be a close game and getting more than field goal is a huge edge;
8) Nobody gave Tressel much chance when he won the title over Miami.
I'm now 19-8 on top plays 2* and above in NFL and college combined and like tonight's play a lot.
