It is hard being in the the Columbus area and being partial----Last year I loved OSU against Florida and we alll know how that turned out and I guess this is why I am reserved this year. I really feel with Smith winning the Heisman last year was a big time distraction. OSU runs a 95 yard kick off back to go up 7-0 and lose 35-14 or whatever it was...I think OSU is so much more focused---I think Boeckman and Wells are in a better spot than this team last year. Their D this year IMO is a better defensive team but on Offense have less "big time" weapons---LSU IMO is not great offense---I love this kid HESTER---Flynn---HMMM--don't know--I like Doucet--and LaFell----On both sides of the ball for both teams we have some great athletes and don't know how many know the OSU players---Gholston-Hartline-Trapasso(P) Robiskie Wells-the other Wells and big number 33 JAMES Laurinaitis---

I am sure I missed a few big players but I think OSU gets it done--I see no reason why they can not hang and win the National Title---SEC has proved(no bashing please) that they are human this year--- Ohio State 28-24---That is my official play!! I do love the over buddy--check out some scores from LSU as I am sure you have---lots of ways to exploit this D!!!!

Sorry for the delay. It seems like motivation plays more into the title game in recent than anything. Probably the reason 7 of 9 dogs have won, and the two favs that did were so far better than the dogs that they crushed them. I think Golston is the key to the game. If he can get some pressure on Flynn, he goes from an average QB to below average. Hester is a solid RB. He won't bust many 10+ yarders, but he's tough. And their other back is plenty fast. I think the key will be 3rd downs. In that LSU/Arkansas game, they converted alot of key third downs, including a couple TDs if I recall correctly. That was mostly b/c Arkansas was dumb and blitzed leaving just man to man on the outside. Hopefully OSU saw how this did not work and doesn't blitz as much. Of course if the front 4 can get pressure that would be great.

I like the over too, and am going to play that. I also decided I'm going to hedge my LSU prop, which was a +860, to even out either way. That way I guarentee profit. What do you think about all the talk of Henton getting in and playing QB for a few plays? I think it's stupid. I know they say LSU has had trouble against QBs like that, but why change now? I know he wasn't available the last 7 games, but he didn't play in key situations the first five, so why throw him in now? Plus, if they bring him in to run an option type play on the goal line, that can be risky. Having an RB catch an option pitch that isn't used to it can lead to disaster. Hopefully I'm wrong there, or hopefully it's all a hoax, but we'll see.

This here has been completely different emotionally for me. It almost seemed like last year felt like it would just be a coronation going in. We had a big party with all the food, etc, etc. This year it's just a few close friends. We're not even going to watch it on the same TV or in the same room, haha.

Hopefully Les goes for it on some more 4th downs early. He's been fortunate so far, but I don't think they've faced a D like this that has size and speed. I'll definitely take Tressel over Miles any day, as would most people, and taht could play a big factor. Seems like the OSU prep this year is way different than last year.

Starting to get excited now. Still cautiously optimistic after last year's debacle though. I'm sure I'll spend all day at work tomorrow reading articles, so that's good, haha. Feel free to get my email address from a mod if you want to chat during the day tomorrow. Unfortunately BC is on my banned list there. :-(

One other thing of note, check out some of these futures bets I've played the last two years:

      OSU Football '06
      OSU Basketball '07
      Indians '07
      Bears '06

All of them were pretty much "one game away" from winning it all. I know the Indians lost in the ALCS, but they were still one game away really. So, I hope I end up 1 game away with LSU too, haha.
