I'm going to keep my plays in one thread each weekend and i'll try to give a little reason/write-up with each one. It will be easier doing them when i like the line or when i get time, compared to the day of the game each time. Those threads will be saved for Hoops & Hockey!
I said if i found a Side i liked enough for GOY material i would post it and here it is. Like always, play smart and only wager what you can afford to lose.
All Time "Game of the Year" Record = (27-10)

"NFL GOY" (
Units)

Tampa Bay -2 (-115)
My angle on this one is probably a little different than most. I wonder if the Giants will be suffering from a "Hangover" in this game? Personally, i think it is VERY possible.
Teams who play New England have been very bad the following week. If you look at their games, you will see many mental errors (Turnovers & Penalties) and a team that just didn't seem very inspired, energized or focused to win.
Going back to week 9 ... New England was (8-0) and heading in to Indy to play a game against the defending SB Champs, Who were (7-0) and their biggest test by far. This was the game everyone pointed to as "The Game" N.E. would lose. The Patriots were down 10 with 8 minutes left and most assumed loss number one was here. New England went on to out score Indy 14-0 and Win the game. From that game forward, every team N.E. faced started treating it like their own Superbowl.
Week 9 against Indy is when i started looking at this. Teams facing N.E. from week 9 until present day are (0-7) Su and (1-6) Ats the following week.
The 3 teams in those 7 games who hosted New England @ Home with their crowd behind them, all went on to lose the next game by an average of 16 points. If you remember, the next game Indy played after N.E. was a road game at S.D. where Indy lost again and Peyton had the worst game of his career throwing 6 Interceptions.
You also saw Buffalo go on the road and have nothing at Jacksonville losing by 22, Philly lost at home to Seattle by 4 and didn't look great, Baltimore went on the Road to S.D. and had zero energy giving up 44 and getting trounced, Pittsburgh went home and lost by 7 to a Jacksonville team who showed way more energy than them, The Jets lost by 4 at Tenn. and were the only one of the seven who covered the spread, and the Dolphins fell behind by 22 at home against Cincy before scoring late to lose by 15.
Those are the last 7 teams and what they did after playing New England. They are not all horrible teams but most had the same result. You can agree, disagree or say this is a playoff game and it will be different but i don't think so. The Giants played hard and with alot of emotion right until the end last week only to come up short like the previous 7. The Giants were also banged up last week losing C O'Hara and LB Mitchell to leg and knee injuries while Tampa Bay rested almost everybody and won't have to travel.
I know the Giants have been a great road team this season but hey, Tampa Bay is (6-1) SU & ATS at home this year with starters playing. Tampa Bay is #1 against the pass, #2 overall and #3 in ppg allowed on defense. Hopefully that is a recipe for disaster for Eli. Don't forget, Shockey is gone too and this could be a tough one for Eli if they can limit Burress. I like Garcia and i like Tampa to win 27-13
GOOD LUCK!
