  • Chado's "Huge Card" for Thursday!!! (With Write-Ups)!!!

I had my absolute worst night of the entire NHL season yesterday putting up a fuckin donut going 0-5 for -5.30 units. It was just sickening watching everything explode in my face last night and also the fashion of how each bet lost:

1.) Buffalo Sabres ML - No more betting against the best team in the East in the Ottawa Senators....either bet for the Sens or pass cause this team cant seem to lose....the Sabres never had a lead and lost 5-3....nice job Sabres....not a good team this year at all....

2.) TOR/NYI under 5.5 - Now I know why Andrew Raycroft hadnt started a game since Nov. 24th for the Leafs. He starts last night and gives up 3 goals in the 1st period alone to the lowest scoring team in the whole league and its 3-2 after just 1 period. Nice job Andrew Softcroft.....

3.) St. Louis Blues ML - The Blues seemed to be one of the few teams that has had Detroit's number. But once again cant be betting against a team with the best overall record in the NHL...either gotta go with the Wings from now on or pass as they won 5-0 and it wasnt even close...nice job Blues....

4.) MIN/DAL under 5.0 - These two teams are amongst the best defensively in the NHL. But of course not on this night as Josh Harding gives up a career worst 8 goals and the score is 3-2 after just 1 period. Loser right off the bat aswell....are you actually kidding me? 11 goals scored with a 5.0 total....nice job Josh Harding....Wild fans be very thankful you have Niklas Backstrom as your main guy....

5.) Carolina Hurricanes ML - This bet was one of the only ones that had a chance last night as they were up 2-1 in the 3rd period. This will be one that will actually win for me tonight...yea think again....Rangers score 3 goals in the 3rd period alone and win 4-2....WTF happened to this Canes team after their impressive start....no playoffs again this year for them?

Overall there were 9 games last night in the NHL and ALL 9 FAVORITES WON.....also note that only 3 of the 9 games went under the posted total in what has been a low scoring NHL season thus far....one of the strangest nights I have witnessed all season long....

Anyway, it also made me angry that when breaking down last nights card and narrowing which ones to play and which not to....I left off two that would have hit and pressed another couple to an official pick that I really shouldnt have. All in all a crazy night but a learning experience to say the least. I have historically bounced back after "extremely" terrible nights quite well in the NHL so lets hope that continues tonight. Onto today....tonight what I am going to do is play everything from my short list. I am not gonna pick and choose which ones to actually make a play and which ones to leave off so I am playing every side and total that fits into my capping methods so lets do this. There are a whopping 10 games in the NHL for this evening and I like these selections:

ALL GAMES ARE FOR ONE UNIT EACH () :

1 Toronto Maple Leafs (+135) - OT included ML
As bad as the Leafs are....Philly has been worse. The Flyers have only won 2 games in the entire month of December losing 8 of their last 10 games. They have also lost their last 6 games in a row. The Leafs have won 4 in a row in Philadelphia and are 6-0 in the last 6 games vs each other and the road team has won 5 of the last 7. Toskala has a groin injury so Andrew Raycroft gets the start again. As shitty of a goaltender that he is in general, the Flyers have been one of few teams that he has been very solid against. In 8 career games vs Philly he is 5-2-1 against the Flyers only allowing 17 goals for an amazing GAA average of just 2.05 and a save percentage of 92.7%

    3/4 Florida Panthers / Atlanta Thrashers UNDER 5.5 (-115) - OT included
Kari Lehtonen is expected to get the start at home tonight against the Panthers and so he should. In 14 career games vs Florida he is 11-2-1 only allowing 27 goals for GAA of just 1.87 and an amazing save percentage of 94% with 3 shutouts. Thomos Vokoun will get the start tonight for the Panthers. Even though his record is only 1-4-1 in 6 games vs the Thrashers he can hold down the fort to some extent giving up 14 goals for a GAA average of 2.32 and a save percentage of 91% with a shutout. Also, the under is 6-0-1 in the last 7 games vs each other.

4 Atlanta Thrashers (-115) - OT included ML
Talk about a strange Atlanta Thrashers team we have watched this year. A real up and down see saw club scoring at will and not scoring other nights. The Thrashers got shutout last night in Columbus and I would expect them to bounce back tonight at home vs a Panthers team in which they have OWNED. The home team between these two is 4-1 in the last 5 games and the favorite is also 13-4. Florida has only won 7 of their last 27 games vs the Thrashers and have also lost the last 11 in a row to them.

5/6 Montreal Canadiens / Tampa Bay Lightning UNDER 6.0 (-110) - OT included
The Habs are going with Cristobal Huet tonight in goal and so they should. In 6 career games vs the Lightning he is 4-2 only allowing 12 goals for a GAA of just 2.00 and an amazing save percentage of 93.7%. The Lightning are most likely starting Johan Holmqvist tonight. He has only faced the Habs twice in his career and gave up 5 goals in 2 games. I am looking for the Habs to score around 3 or 4 goals as I really cant see Tampa scoring more than 2 themselves tonight against Huet. Also, the total set at 6.0 for a push at worst and not 5.5 is what I like to see for security. Also, the under is 4-1-1 in the last 6 matchups between these two teams.

5 Montreal Canadiens (-110) - OT included ML
This pick is mainly based on the feel I have for my team this season and the spots in which to bet both for and against them. I have been very good with wagers involving my Habs and I would expect a strong performance from them tonight in Tampa. Montreal cant seem to win at home right now but they are an impressive 11-6-2 on the road this season. Huet is starting and he has faired very well vs the Lightning so I would expect the Habs to get a win tonight.

    7/8 Washington Capitals / Pittsburgh Penguins OVER 6.0 (+100) - OT included
This game involves a matchup of two teams that can put the puck in the net and have trouble preventing goals. Also both back-ups get the call tonight with Brent Johnson starting for the Caps and Ty Conklin for the Pens. I would expect a 4-3, 5-2 type game in Pittsburgh tonight. Also, 8 of the last 11 games between these two teams have went over.

    8/10 Pittsburgh Penguins (-190) / Ottawa Senators (-260) (+112) - OT included ML Parlay
The Penguins host the Capitals tonight in what I would expect to be a quality performance by the Pens. The home team in this series is 15-5-2 in the last 22 games. The Caps have not done well in Pittsburgh having only won 3 times in their last 21 games there and are winless in their last 5 in a row against the Pens. The Senators lost 7 in a row a few weeks back but since then they have won 8 of their last 10 games overall and are firing on all cylinders. It does not look promising for the leagues lowest scoring team tonight in the Isles if they expect to win a high scoring battle with arguably the leagues best offensive team. Also, Rick DiPietro is out tonight and back up Wade Dubielewicz is getting the start for the Isles in goal. This will more than likely be a total blowout for the Sens who should win this game by at least 3 or more goals IMO. Not to mention the Isles are just 3-15-3 in their last 21 games in Ottawa and have only won 6 times in their last 42 games vs the Sens....yikes....

    10 Ottawa Senators -1.5 (+115) - OT included puck-line

12 Nashville Predators (-145) - OT included ML
Chris Mason is getting the call between the pipes tonight and so he should. He has OWNED the Columbus Blue Jackets throughout his career boasting a 7-1 record. In 8 games vs the Jackets he has only given up 14 goals for a GAA of just 1.72 and an amazing save percentage of 94.9% with a shutout. He also faced the Jackets just 4 days ago and only gave up one goal on 31 shots. Also, with no Michael Peca or Rick Nash both out due to injury this Columbus team is having trouble scoring. The Jackets are 2-14-1 in their last 17 trips to Nashville and have only won 5 times in general over the last 27 games vs the Preds.

    13/14 Minnesota Wild / Phoenix Coyotes UNDER 5.0 (+100) - OT included
13 Minnesota Wild (+110) - OT included ML
After last nights garbage performance by Josh Harding the Wild are turning to their main man in goal tonight in Niklas Backstrom and so they should. In 5 games vs the Coyotes his record is an undefeated 5-0 and has only given up a combined 5 goals. His GAA is a ridiculous 1.00 and he also has an unreal 95.5% save percentage vs Phoenix. You can bet that Niklas Backstrom will help this team get back to their defense ways in which they are known for starting tonight. Ever since the Coyotes acquired goaltender Ilya Bryzgalov from the Ducks they no longer need to win high scoring hockey games to get a win. He allows them a chance at winning low scoring games in which they havent experienced before. Unfortunately tonight however, they will be unable to score goals against a goaltender in Backstrom that has OWNED them. Also, the under is 4-0-1 in the last 5 games between these two teams. The Wild have won the last 5 games in a row over the Coyotes including a recent 3-1 win in Minnesota back on the 28th of November.

16 Edmonton Oilers (+125) - OT included ML
If there is any team in the NHL this season that are a huge disappointment from last year it is the Ducks. I have watched this team play on numerous occasions this year and its like they have no motivation what so ever after they won it all last year. They coast around on the ice like its figure skating practice and really lack any drive, almost thinking they can just get into the playoffs and turn it up when it matters. Problem is however with the road they are heading down they wont even make it there and will be another classic example of a team who wins it all and fails to make the playoffs the following year. The Oilers on the other hand are playing with the exact opposive drive and intensity. They give it their full effort as a team day in and day out and are young and exciting to watch. Just about a month ago this Oiler team went into Honda Centre and destroyed the Ducks easily winning 4-0 in an all around dominating preformance. Mathieu Garon is getting the call tonight for the Oilers and he was also in net to record that shutout. Also, the Ducks are 6-24-1 in their last 31 games in general vs the Oilers and have only won 4 times in their last 21 trips to Edmonton.

Now that was VERY time consuming....lets hope things work out in our favor tonight!!!

AS ALWAYS, GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE!!!
SOBER SINCE MARCH 28TH OF 2007!!!
