Like San Diego esp in the first half as they have a strong desire to not having to play Jax first up in the playoffs (who does).
2nd Denver is 31st against the run.

Indy won't play its starters except maybe a few times against Tenn. Tenn is hungry for the win. seems like the right play.

Purdue should beat C. Mich and that is all I am asking!

Thanx Joe, Chad, Dat Boi and DBurgh.

Not playing Denver but Cutler has a 90 vs Rivers 80 rating. Passing will be the way Denver could get close but they are awful in the redzone.

Rivers said that his sprained left knee felt much better Wednesday than it did when he missed practice last Wednesday
“It’s pretty good,” Rivers said. “These couple of days off have really helped. Having the extra day before we play, it shouldn’t be a problem this week.”
Last week, Rivers split snaps with backup Billy Volek throughout the week. The Bolts’ starting signal caller may take a few more reps in practice this week but doesn’t expect to take them all.

“I’ll probably ease back into it a little bit,” Rivers said. “It worked out last week kind of taking a few less reps than I’d been taking. I’d been taking every single snap. It’s good for Billy this late in the year to get in there and get a little bit just in case.”

Linebacker Shawne Merriman seemed to have a pep in his step as he made his way from the trainer’s room to the locker room after Wednesday’s walk through.
“It feels good,” Merriman said as he passed.

The now three-time Pro Bowler was optimistic he’d be back on the field Thursday, but his head coach was a little more reserved.
“I doubt they’ll practice tomorrow,” Turner said in reference to Merriman and defensive end Luis Castillo. “I think by the end of the week we’ll be able to get some limited work and then we’ll see where they are.”

                  1. RUNNING AWAY: LaDainian Tomlinson couldn't have asked for better opponents as he chases his second straight NFL rushing title. The Broncos and Raiders rank 31st and 32nd in the league in yards allowed per carry, and Denver has given up an average of 140 yards per game. The Chargers had 214 against Denver in the first meeting, with most of the damage done by Michael Turner, who had 147 on just 10 carries, including the two longest runs of the season vs. the Broncos, 49 and 74 yards. Tomlinson, who trails Pittsburgh's Willie Parker by five yards and leads Minnesota's Adrian Peterson by 6, has gained 439 yards in his last 2 1/2 games.

                  Series: Broncos lead 52-42-1

                  2. MATCHUP PROBLEM: Hard to believe Antonio Gates has had only one catch in two of his past three games. Also hard to believe he won't have a big game tonight. Gates had seven catches in each of his past two games against Denver, surpassing 100 yards in each (104, 113) and scoring a total of three TDs. If he scores tonight, he will become the first tight end in NFL history with three seasons of at least 10 TD catches. If he reaches 100 yards, he will tie Kellen Winslow's team record for tight ends with five 100-yard games in a season.

                  3. PASSING FANCY: The Chargers haven't asked Philip Rivers to do too much in their past three games against Denver, but what they've asked, he has done very well. Rivers has thrown fewer passes (26, 23, 18) in each of the past three games with the Broncos, but he completed 47 of those 67 attempts (70 percent) for 771 yards with six TDs, two interceptions, just two sacks and a 125.9 passer rating. There's also this: Just six teams have allowed more TD passes this season than Denver (22).

                  4. DANGEROUS COMBO: Broncos quarterback Jay Cutler is a high-percentage passer with the league's fifth-highest average gain per pass attempt (7.78). Receiver Brandon Marshall has 21 catches in the past two weeks and 86 this season. San Diego has 10 interceptions and has allowed fewer than 600 passing yards in the past three games, but Cutler and Marshall will be by far the best combination of quarterback and receiver the Chargers have seen in many weeks. The Broncos haven't committed a turnover in two straight games.

                  5. NOWHERE TO RUN: Denver probably won't have a 1,000-yard rusher for just the second time since Mike Shanahan became coach in 1995 (the other was 2001), but the Broncos remain one of the league's best running teams, ranking third in yards per carry and eighth in yards per game. However, the Chargers have been outstanding against the run since the debacle in Minnesota, with no team averaging more than 3.67 yards per carry in any of the past six games. Overall during that span the Chargers have allowed just 3.25 yards per carry and 83 yards a game.

                  --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

                  SCOUTING REPORT
WHEN THE CHARGERS HAVE THE BALL: San Diego shouldn't have much trouble moving the ball tonight. Not only have the Broncos allowed 28 or more points seven times this season, but the Chargers have scored at least 35 points in each of their past three meetings with Denver (41.3 average). They've averaged 415 yards in those games, with at least 125 rushing yards and 217 passing yards in each. EDGE: Chargers

WHEN THE BRONCOS HAVE THE BALL: Denver has been held to 20 or fewer points in five of its seven road games, while the Chargers have been one of the league's best defensive teams at home. San Diego has yielded just 10 defensive TDs this season, tied for the sixth-fewest total in the league. Only one TD came on the ground (Baltimore's Willis McGahee), the fewest in the league. EDGE: Chargers

SPECIAL TEAMS: The Broncos have the league's worst average starting field position after receiving kickoffs, not a good thing when your defense allows 26 points a game. Their punt and kickoff coverage teams have allowed three TDs, and this week they changed punters, going from Todd Sauerbrun to Paul Ernster. At least they have Jason Elam, who will pass John Elway for the most games in club history (235). He has made 12 straight field goals and 24-of-28 overall. EDGE: Chargers

INTANGIBLES: If the Chargers win, they can improve their chances of drawing a favorable matchup in the playoffs. If the Broncos win, they can mess up their chances for a better draft position. EDGE: Chargers

INJURY REPORT: The Chargers could welcome back DE Luis Castillo (ankle) and LB Shawne Merriman (knee) tonight. Backup RB Michael Turner (shoulder) also is questionable. Denver won't have LB Ian Gold (knee) and probably TE Daniel Graham (ankle). WR Brandon Stokley (knee) is questionable.

Playing the Chargers 1st 1/2 at -6. Cuttler is a slow starter.

Play On - Home favorites of 2 to 6 points vs. the first half line (SAN DIEGO) - good offensive team - scoring 24 or more points/game, after allowing 7 points or less in the first half in 2 straight games.
(47-16 over the last 10 seasons.) (74.6%, +29.4 units. Rating
