Trends to consider for Week 16 of the NFL season

-- Seahawks covered six of last eight as double digit fave.

-- Packers covered 10 of last 14 division road games.

-- Buffalo is 6-1-1 vs spread when hosting an NFC team.

-- Browns are 11-5-1 vs spread in last 17 road games.

-- Colts covered one of last eight division games.

-- Buccaneers covered two of last 10 as a road favorite.

Thursday's List of 13: Our college hoop List of 13...........

This isn't a ranking, just list of things in college hoop world that caught my eye over last week to ten days.

            13) Kentucky- Lost four games in row for first time in last 19 years; upcoming schedule is tough, it could get worse for a team that looks lost right now.

            12) Sam Houston State-- They still haven't lost; Southland is going to be good race, with Bearkats. UT-Arlington looking like the frontrunners, but Stephen F. Austin won at Oklahoma

            11) OVC-- How did this conference get so bad? They're 31st out of 31 in conference ratings, ranking below independent teams who haven't even been accepted into leagues.

            10) West Virginia-- They're 9-1 under alum Huggins, while Wolverines are struggling in first year of Beilein era; plus, the $1.5M payout Beilein has to pay helps bottom line. Flip side of all this is that Michigan bought WVa's football coach, too.

            9) Horizon-- Surprisingly ranked 9th in Conference RPI, most of credit goes to Butler, but newcomer Valparaiso has been a impressive addition so far.

            8) WAC-- Ranked 26th in conference ratings, just terrible; the departures of coaches Theus, Wallace haven't helped cause.

            7) North Dakota State-- Did so well their coach moved on to Colorado State; then he brought Rams back here, and Bison drilled them. This fall, they brought 30,000 fans to a football game in Minnesota; could they be Big 11's 12th team?

            6) Washington-- Ryan Appleby's return gives them outside threat to balance Brockman inside; he made six 3's the other night against Portland State, breaking game open.

            5) Sun Belt Conference-- . With Western Kentucky, South Alabama, New Orleans all contending, conference winner is going to be getting better seed in March Madness.

            4) Arizona-- Won at Illinois, UNLV; will be less fun to watch under O'Neill, but they'll still contend in tough Pac-10. What I want to know is whether O'Neill can recruit at a high level?

            3) Ole Miss-- Could take advantage of down year in SEC to win Western Division, then question becomes, will they give program enough support to keep Kennedy in Oxford?

            2) Stanford-- Got Brook Lopez back, immediately avenged its loss to Santa Clara in big way; they play Texas Tech in next game, another good test for the Cardinal.

            1) Arizona State-- Whacked Xavier last week, are better than where they were predicted in Pac-10 race.
