Tuesday's key NCAAB Top 25 matchup notes

Oral Roberts at No. 5 Texas (off)

After losing its first two meetings with Oral Roberts, Texas has won the last eight games in the series. These teams haven't faced each other since the Longhorns' 87-77 win on Dec. 2, 1998 - Barnes' first victory as head coach at Texas.

No. 3 Kansas at Georgia Tech (+10)

This will be only the sixth meeting between the teams. The Yellow Jackets knocked off the Jayhawks 79-71 in overtime in an NCAA regional final March 28, 2004. Kansas earned a measure of revenge the following season, beating Georgia Tech 70-68 in overtime on Jan. 1, 2005. The Jayhawks lead the series 4-1.

Western Illinois at No. 8 UCLA (off)

UCLA looks to do the same Tuesday in its second meeting against Western Illinois. The Bruins beat the Leathernecks 75-60 at home on Nov. 23, 2004, in the teams' previous meeting.

                  Sacramento at New Jersey
New Jersey's struggles continue as the Nets have dropped five of their last six, including a pair of losses to the lower-rated Knicks and a home loss to the Clippers. Tonight they face a Sacramento team that is playing without top-scorer Kevin Martin, but still found a way to beat the Sixers by 10 (109-99) in Philadelphia on Friday night. New Jersey looks like a shaky favorite (-5) in this one according to Dunkel, which has Sacramento favored straight up by 2 1/2. Dunkel Pick: Sacramento (+5). Here are all of today's games.

                    Portland State at Washington
The Huskies have taken their lumps early, losing four of five at one point against stiff competition (Texas A&M, Syracuse, Oklahoma State and Pitt) and playing without guard Ryan Appleby (broken hand). Washington welcomed the return of Appleby to the starting lineup and finally faced a lower-rated team in Portland on Saturday, but could only beat the Pilots by four points (67-63) indicating that Lorenzo Romar's team is still not clicking. That opens up an opportunity for Portland State, which has won four of its last five with the only loss coming by a respectable 12 points (72-60) at Washington State. The Vikings look like a good underdog pick (+11) according to Dunkel, which has Washington favored by only 6. Dunkel Pick: Portland State (+11). Here are all of today's games.
