The Anaheim Ducks announced Monday that the team acquired centre Brian Sutherby from the Washington Capitals for a second round pick in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.
Sutherby, 25, has appeared in five games this season for Washington, a goal and seven penalty minutes.
He has played in 259 career NHL games over six seasons with Washington, collecting 26 goals and 61 points. Sutherby played a career-high 76 games with the Capitals in 2005-06, scoring 14 goals and 30 points.
He was drafted 26th overall by Washington 2000 NHL Entry Draft
