Breaking News!! FUKUDOME signs with CUBS!!!

Dave Kaplan of WGN Radio reports that the Cubs have signed Kosuke Fukudome to a four-year deal. Kaplan says it's for about $50MM, maybe a hair more. Fukudome will be a free agent after the fourth year; there will be no arbitration.

I'm sick of Kenny talking out of both sides of his mouth. For 3-4 years leading up to the World Series, he was a whiny little girl about not having enough attendance at the ballpark. He was a freakin' broken record about it. He said that if we had higher attendance they would have the money to go out and sign big ticket free agents. So, after the World Series in '05, that ball park was packed! I've been a season ticket holder since '01, I was there and saw that ball park sold out or at least 5-10 thousand more fans per game. The lines to the bathroom doubled! Not to mention that season tickets were sold out within a couple of weeks after they won the World Series.

So, Kenny, you asked for it you got it. We packed that ball park. WHERE ARE THE BIG FREE AGENT SIGNINGS???? Also, we trade away any player that even looks like they'll command a high price salary a year or two before their contract is up. Garland was a 28 year old innings eater and a solid 2 or 3 pitcher. They refuse to give long term contracts to free agents and Kenny complains about how they are over priced. Kenny, that's the price of poker when you play at the big table. We're not even playing poker, we're at the kiddie table playing Go Fish now!! Kenny, look between your legs, see anything? It's time to grab a set and get Jerry to buy us in at the big boy table.

This is Chicago, the 3rd largest market in the country and the 2nd largest sports market. We won the World Series a couple of years ago. We play in the best division in baseball. All reasons we need to go get us some studs. Instead the flippin' Royals make us look like we're going backwards this off season.

I don't want to go back to that team that is mildly competitive and signs Robbie Alomar and that Carl "Dinosaur" Everett every year in a pathetic attempt to make a push for the playoffs. We have squandered a golden opportunity to capitalize on winning the World Series. Now, the best free agents don't want to come here.

I WANT THE WHITE SOX TO BE CONTENDERS EVERY YEAR! Not a freakin' joke.
