Most NFL coaches coach to NOT lose. There's so much media scrutiny they coach scared.

For years the fans and media have bitched about the prevent defense. But the coaches still play prevent in key situations. I still don't understand how a defense shuts down the other team for 58 minutes then the last 2 minutes of the game you change your defense scheme.

Another pet peeve I have is short yardage offense. I don't understand how on every play the offense is spread out then on short yardage the offense crams their entire offense within a few yards of the line of scrimmage. How come teams average 3, 4 and 5 yards per carry running their normal offense package then can't pick up 6 inches in their short yardage package? Teams should not change their offense in short yardage situations.

Good point Frank on the short yardage plays if you put four wideouts they have to cover them, leaving seven in the box vs nine. Give the running back a little room and they will find it.

i know i agree exactly. and here is the thing. I have been tracking NE lines all season long. Its like vegas is beggin you to take action on certain games......ie NE -16 vs. Miami earlier in the year. or even yesterday. NE -10.5 everyone and their brother was basically all over Pitt.


i will be shocked if the Jets score more than 14pts in this game. And i cant see NE scoring less than 40 no way possible.
