At the bar I go to each week we have a 11 team football pick sheet, which includes the Wed. line in the local paper. There are around 16 to 20 players each week. Some of us are gamblers and most are just watching the games. After 15 weeks of play the results are unreal. To win this pool usally takes at least eight wins. Most of the time more.
One lady has won three times just by her husband calling her and telling her who is playing. No lines at all. Each time she has had 8 or more wins.
A good friend of mine has won three times also. Twice by flipping a coin and one time just to piss everyone off, he made all his picks then reversed them.
Another friend of mine who knows nothing about sports, football or anything has won twice.
It seems that piss luck, dumb luck and dont give a fuck wins more often than looking at lines, injuries, weather, past performance, etc.........
