And I can't make a call on this game. I can provide some perspectives which may help you guys though...
The home field advantage in Baltimore can be huge - but not tonight. This season has been dead and the electricity is gone. Fans here are NOT excited about this one. In fact, it will be cold and extremely windy - further downgrading enthusiasm. I know a lot of diehards who unloaded tickets for this one, including me; its pretty bad.
It is blowing a gale outside. I fish the bay a lot, thus I have good wind forecast sites. It looks like it will be steady at 20 from the west with gusts to thirty during the game. That's my educated wind forecast guess. M&T is a closed stadium, and a west wind hits it from the Ravens side, so it should be a cross wind into the NE bench. Closed stadium equals less impact than a normal 30 mph wind; but I don't know how that realy affects things.
The Ravens stop the run. Their pass D has been bad, they aren't getting a rush without Pryce. On a calm night, I was on NE and Bellichek is smart enough to just pass pass pass. The Ravens wouldn''t stop it. Local radio saying McCallister won't go, but nothing official. This would be huge. On a calm night, I'd hammer the Pats. And I love the Purple and Black.
Ravens offense is bad. Local radio says Heap a no go, but again, nothing official. Without Heap, Bellichek takes Mason out of the game, stacks the line against McGahee and its trouble for Baltimore.
Bottom line, be careful. I'm laying off, which I never thought I'd do. I'll root for crazy winds and an upset. If I HAD to bet it, I think I'd still take the Pats and the over; and figure Brady goes 35-42 throwing underneath like a surgeon. In addition, Boller and Billick usually struggle adapting to game circumstances. Hope I'm wrong!
I hope this helps you guys.
Good luck!
