Well I have pretty much had this game on my radar all season and here it is guys:
3/4 Montreal Canadiens / New Jersey Devils UNDER 5.0 (+115) (GOY) (5 units
) OT included
I will break this game down like this. I will first start off with the trends that tonight are significantly overwhelming:
Under is 5-2 in Canadiens last 7 games following a win.
Under is 5-2 in Canadiens last 7 games playing on 2 days rest
Under is 5-0 in Devils last 5 Friday games.
Under is 7-1 in Devils last 8 games playing on 1 days rest.
Under is 10-2 in Devils last 12 vs. Eastern Conference.
Under is 4-1-2 in Devils last 7 vs. Northeast.
Under is 4-1 in Devils last 5 home games vs. a team with a road winning % of greater than .600.
Under is 7-2 in Devils last 9 games following a win.
Under is 10-3 in Devils last 13 overall.
Under is 9-3 in Devils last 12 after allowing 2 goals or less in their previous game.
Under is 9-4-2 in Devils last 15 games as a home favorite.
Under is 18-8 in Devils last 26 games as a home favorite of -110 to -150.
Under is 11-5-2 in Devils last 18 home games.
Under is 20-9-3 in the last 32 meetings.
I have watched enough of my team over the years to know that Devils goaltender Martin Brodeur owns us. Everytime we play the Devils we cannot score against him. In 50 games lifetime vs. the Habs he has faced 1308 shots and saved 1220 of them allowing only 88 goals. He has a goals against average of just 1.74, a save percentage at an unbelievable 93.3% and has 7 shutouts. What makes this play even better is that the Habs are going with the future of this team between the pipes in goaltender Carey Price tonight. He was drafted 5th overall in the first round of the 2005 NHL entry draft for a reason. In Montreal goaltending recruiting is something that is hugely emphasized and focused on. Another pivotal thing is the history of Devils coach Brent Sutter and Carey Price. Sutter is the coach of the Canadian World Junior team which is a HUGE tourney up here during Christmas time. Carey Price was cut by Sutter in his first chance at the national junior team and the following year Price bounced back to win the MVP along with the gold medal last year. I like the fact that Price will want to show Sutter that he made a big mistake and bring his A game tonight in New Jersey facing his former junior coach for the first time. I feel quite confident that one of these goaltenders tonight can get a shutout so as long as the opposing team doesnt score more than 4 goals themselves (which I dont see happening) than we are good. I am expecting a 2-1 or 2-0 type game tonight in New Jersey involving the up and coming Carey Price and arguably the best goaltender of ALL TIME in Martin Brodeur!!!
**Please bet with your head and not over it. Do not bet what you dont have or what you cannot afford to lose....
AS ALWAYS, GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE!!!
