    Six-pack for Tuesday

-- I think the Falcons miss DE Patrick Kerney as much or more than they miss Michael Vick. Kerney is running amok for the 7-4 Seahawks.

-- Over their last seven games, Cardinals have averaged 10 penalties for 83 yards; that and turnovers are why a decent team is now likely to miss the playoffs. Again.

-- John Beck may be a rookie QB, but Ben Roethlisberger is younger than he is. Beck is 26, having gone on mission in Peru before attending BYU.

-- According to the NFL Media Guide, 30 of 32 NFL head coaches are married (Belichick, McCarthy are not); in such a consuming job, isn’t it surprising that more single guys don’t get hired?

-- 13 of the 32 special teams coaches in NFL are in their first year with that team. Lot of turnover in coaching.

-- If high school, college games are going to be played at Heinz Field, it is inexcusable for them to get a grass field, since it is inevitable that the field will get screwed up.

Tuesday's List of 13: Our college football List of 13.....

      13) UL-Monroe—Followed up Alabama upset with road win in their rivalry game at UL-Lafayette. Not easy to come back and win tough road game like that.

      12) USC—Every time they play on road, its like circus coming to town; in a down year for Trojans, they are 9-2, and could still get to Rose Bowl.

      11) Mississippi State—Sylvester Croom was so overcome with emotion after winning Egg Bowl that he couldn’t talk to the TV guy; good for him, a job well done.

      10) Central Florida—George O’Leary is 9-3 headed into the
C-USA title game; in case you hadn’t heard, Notre Dame, the school that dumped O’Leary because of a fabrication on a 20-year old resume, went 3-9 this season.

      9) Arkansas—Verne Lundquist kept saying Arkansas didn’t have a QB on field during parts of LSU game; yes they did, he was wearing #5, and he is best college player in America.

      8) New Mexico—Very quietly, almost silently, went x-x this season. Bowl game will be first time I’ve seen the Lobos this season.

      7) Tennessee—What game coaching they did in November, pulling Vols through tough games vs. Vandy and Kentucky to win SEC East title. Next year they have to break in a new QB.

      6) Wake Forest—All Grobe does is win. Not sure how long Wake can keep him.

      5) LSU—I put them on this list because it was fun watching them play all season; their coaching situation is going to be one of the most interesting in recent history.

      4) Hawai’i—Only I-A team that hasn’t lost yet; Fresno State’s 45-29 win over Kansas State legitimizes the WAC against a Big 12 team, and helps the Warriors’ case a lot.

      3) Missouri—Two wins away from a very unlikely national title. They would be underdogs in both of those games.

      2) West Virginia—Backyard Brawl vs. Pitt is last obstacle between ‘eers and national title game. No way do I think they are one of two best teams in country.

      1) Oklahoma—Really, I have no idea who the best team is; Sooners had tough loss, at decent Colorado team after they had pretty good lead. Can Sooners leapfrog Ohio State in the BCS standings if they beat Missouri this weekend?

If you put a gun to my head and made me pick a team to win one game, right now, though, I’d probably pick Georgia.

Boston Celtics at Cleveland Cavaliers (NBATV | 7 PM ET)

Cavaliers are 15-5 ATS in their last 20 games against a team winning above 60 percent.
The UNDER is 20-9 in the Celtics last 29 games when playing on 2 days rest.

Charlotte Bobcats at Miami Heat (7:30 PM ET)

The Bobcats have surprisingly won the last four meetings with Miami both SU & ATS. In fact, the Heat are 0-8 ATS in their last eight games against Southeast Division opponents. BIG EDGE: BOBCATS
Miami star Dwyane Wade is coming off his best performance of the season, totaling 32 points, six rebounds and six assists in a 120-99 loss at Orlando on Saturday. "He's not all the way back by any stretch of the imagination," Miami head coach Pat Riley said. "He's still continuing to get his legs under him, his timing, you know the whole thing. It's going to take some time." SLIGHT EDGE: HEAT
Charlotte will likely have leading scorer Gerald Wallace back in the lineup after he missed Saturday's 96-95 home loss to Boston with a strained right calf. EDGE: BOBCATS
Bobcats are 12-4 ATS in their last 16 road games against a losing home team.
Bobcats are 11-2-1 ATS in their last 14 games following a SU loss.
Heat are 7-20-2 ATS in their last 29 games against the Easten Conference.

The home team is 10-4 ATS in the last 14 meetings.

Memphis Grizzlies at New Jersey Nets (7:30 PM ET)

The Nets will be going for a season-high four-game winning streak after losing six in a row. Captain Jason Kidd had challenged his teammates during the skid, and the message came through loud and clear. "J. Kidd said it best - I wouldn't even disagree when he said our team has a 'glass jaw' about a week ago," New Jersey guard Richard Jefferson said. "Teams would hit and we would just fall down. But I think guys have stepped up and taken the challenge, and we're showing more fight." EDGE NETS
New Jersey has also played better offensively since the return of Vince Carter, who was out with an injured ankle. Carter has been coming off the bench the last three games and scored 19 points in a 102-100 road win against the Lakers on Sunday night. Jefferson has also benefit from Carter's return, averaging 29 points in the last three games. EDGE: NETS
Memphis lost both meetings with New Jersey last season by at least 10 points and has failed to cover the last three in the series. EDGE: NETS
Grizzlies are 35-17-3 ATS in their last 55 games against the Atlantic Division.
Grizzlies are 19-9 ATS in their last 28 road games when playing a losing home team.
Nets are 11-2 ATS in their last 13 games when their opponent has allowed 100+ points previously.
Nets are 3-7-1 ATS in their last 11 games when playing on 1 days rest.
The favorite is 4-0 ATS in the last 4 meetings.

Philadelphia 76ers at Milwaukee Bucks (7:30 PM ET)

The Bucks will be trying to improve to 7-0 at home for the first time since the 1990-91 season. They have five straight overall and are coming off a huge win over Dallas on Saturday. "It was pretty solid all the way around. It was Saturday night at the fights," Milwaukke head coach Larry Krystowiak said. "It was kind of like a heavyweight fight. It went 15 rounds." EDGE: BUCKS
The 76ers have dropped seven of eight and blew a 12-point halftime lead at home to Golden State on Saturday in a 100-98 overtime loss. They are averaging just 89.9 points per game, fourth-worst in the NBA. EDGE: BUCKS
76ers are 9-4 ATS in their last 13 road games.
76ers are 3-8-1 ATS in their last 12 games when playing on 2 days rest.

Bucks are 3-11-1 ATS in their last 15 games against a losing road team.
The underdog is 14-6-1 ATS in the last 21 meetings.

Atlanta Hawks at Chicago Bulls (8:30 PM ET)

Chicago has won the last 11 meetings with Atlanta but returns home after finishing a six-game road trip at 1-5. The Bulls are averaging an NBA-low 86.5 points per game, shooting a league-worst 38.5 percent from the field. SLIGHT EDGE: HAWKS
Atlanta will be trying to complete a perfect three-game road trip at 3-0 for the first time in more than 10 years. The Hawks had to rally to win each of the first two games of the trip, coming back from a 10-point deficit at Miami and trailing by 21 points in the first half at Minnesota on Saturday. "We can't dig ourselves these types of holes and expect to get out of them every game in the second half," Hawks star Joe Johnson said. "I think we still have a lot to work on and we need to start games off right." SLIGHT EDGE: BULLS
Hawks are 5-13-1 ATS in their last 19 road games.
Hawks are 3-10-1 ATS in their last 14 games as a road underdog.

Indiana Pacers at Denver Nuggets (9 PM ET)

Pacers are 7-19 ATS in their last 26 games when playing on 1 days rest.
Pacers are 2-8 ATS in their last 19 games following a SU loss.
Nuggets are 35-17 ATS in their last 52 games against the Central Division.
Nuggets are 1-8 ATS in their last 9 games following an ATS loss.
The favorite is 7-3 ATS in the last 10 meetings.

Seattle SuperSonics at Los Angeles Lakers (10:30 PM ET)

Sonics are 16-5-1 ATS in their last 22 games against a winning team.

                    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

                    Tuesday NBA Gameday

Paul Pierce and the Boston Celtics will travel to Cleveland to take on the Cavaliers in a battle of Eastern Conference powers on Tuesday night. Here is your NBA Gameday.

Boston Celtics at Cleveland Cavaliers, 7:00pm ET

The Celtics have bounced back from their first loss of the season (to the Magic on November 18) by winning their past three games in a row - over the Warriors, Lakers, and Bobcats. Saturday's win over Charlotte was quite the squeaker though - Kevin Garnett and company had to overcome a first-half deficit for the slim 96-95 road victory.

The Cavaliers have also won three straight games, and with four victories in their past five contests they seem to have come out of their early-season doldrums. LeBron James had a triple-double in their 111-106 win over the Pacers on the weekend, with 30 points, 11 rebounds, and 10 assists. Drew Gooden was good for 23 points in that win.

Charlotte Bobcats at Miami Heat, 7:30pm ET

Charlotte's loss to Boston on Saturday was their third defeat in a row, as they also fell to Washington and Orlando last week. The Bobcats had won two straight games heading into that skid, which now has their record at just 6-7. Jason Richardson led the way for the Bobcats versus Boston with 25 points, and Emeka Okafor had 15 points in the loss.

Miami has won two of their last four games, and that qualifies as a hot stretch for the Heat this season. Dwyane Wade and company sit at just 3-10 heading into Tuesday night's game, and they've yet to win against a divisional opponent. Wade poured in 32 points and Shaquille O'Neal scored 20 in their 120-99 road loss to Orlando on Saturday.

Indiana Pacers at Denver Nuggets, 9:00pm ET

Indiana's loss to Cleveland on Sunday put an end to a modest two-game winning streak, but the Pacers have still managed to win three of their last five contests (to sit at 6-8 on the season). Marquis Daniels led the way for Indiana in that loss with 25 points, while Jamaal Tinsley had 24 points and Danny Granger was good for a 21-point effort.

The Nuggets were cooled off a bit by the Rockets on Saturday, losing 109-81 in that road contest. Denver has won seven of their past nine games, and they sit just back of Utah at 9-5 in the Northwest Division standings. Allen Iverson was held to just 18 points in that loss to the Rockets, while Carmelo Anthony had 17 points and eight rebounds.

Seattle SuperSonics at Los Angeles Lakers, 10:30pm ET

The Sonics won two straight contests between November 14 and November 16, but they've lost every other game they've played so far this season to sit with a miserable 2-12 record. Wally Szczerbiak led the way with 27 points in Seattle's 116-101 home loss to San Antonio on Sunday, while Kevin Durant managed to add 25 points in the defeat.

The Lakers had a better-than-expected start to the campaign, but they've come back to earth recently with a three-game losing streak (versus the Bucks, Celtics, and Nets). Kobe Bryant scored a game-high 31 points in Los Angeles' 102-100 home loss to New Jersey on Sunday, and he's second to James in NBA scoring at 27.3 points-per-game.
