  • Boise State's Ryan Dinwiddie?

Ok guys I need your help about this guy. The CFL Championship game is on Sunday afternoon and Winnipeg's QB got injured in their previous game and they are going with this guy named Ryan Dinwiddie. I need to know anything you guys can remember about when he played for Boise St. From what I have just read recently he sounds pretty impressive.....

A three-year starter for Boise State (1999-2003), Dinwiddie has seen his fair share of big games and big performances. The two-time first-team All-Western Athletic Conference All-Star set school career records for passing yards, passing efficiency and touchdowns as well as single-season records for total offence, passing yards, completions and attempts. His career numbers at Boise State include completing 662 of 992 pass attempts for 9,819 yards, 82 touchdowns and an astounding 168.89 passer rating.

Thoughts and opinions from what anyone can remember about this guy would be greatly appreciated...thanks!

hey chado - I liked this kid a lot when he was at boise, and I didn't even know he was in the cfl until last weekend...was that his first action in the cfl...??? that would be my only concern - that this game is still pretty new to him, but the kid was a winner

Dinwiddie, who signed with the Bombers as a free agent in August of 2006, is 24-for-48 for 282 yards and one touchdown in a season-and-a-half with Winnipeg.

Yea the line is Saskatchewan -11.5.....

          haha. RYAN DINWIDDE! HOLY SHIT!

I used to LOVE that guy at Boise, he was awesome. He was the QB when they started to get on the map.

He was awesome in college, but an honest answer is that i dont know how that will translate to the CFL game, I don't even know the last time he played.

yo chado whats up bud I think I can help. I go back a long ways with boise, back to the division II 2 days.

when Dinwiddie was at boise they scored even more than they do now because then they had no defense, contrast to what most people believe boise can play some defense these days. Anyway point is, is that back then they threw the ball A LOT, they were not a big running team as they are now, Dinwiddie used to throw the ball a good 40 -50 times a game and when he is on, which was most of the time he is on, it just seems like everything he does works. With that being said I have also seen him struggle specifically on the road in his career, but like stuntman said above, when he is struggling he's a winner and he can gut games out.

IF he is playing on the home team it means much more than if he's on the road, also has he been with the team for more than a year ? reason I ask is because as a freshman just learning the system he was good but got the job done, then sophmore season on once he was comfortable thats when he exploded.

He also has a history of an ankle problem, I know running quarterbacks are big in the CFL, while he can take off and get a couple yards he is not going to make anyone miss or break any 20 yarders. (but that is also because he usually gets it done with his arm) If he plays on the home team and they have one of the best recieving core's, and a good offensive line (I know that is a lot to ask) but if that was the case I would take the team he is on.

hope this helps a little but your da man with the CFL
P.S I'm on calgary with ya even though I hate going against my AV'S.

Thanks for the info guys...might have to take him and the Bombers +11.5 then...and yes he does have good receivers to throw to and he came in the game last week and went 4 for 4 for 80 yards...
