  • Huge Local Book In Atl City Broken Up

    http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20071114/...mbling_arrests

The hypocrisy here is amazing. The guys doing the collecting were in a poker room where gambling is legal in a casino where gambling is legal. But the people in the same room who were betting on a game are criminals..........

New Jersey is a weird state

but they were laundering money and charging 50% juice on loans and i am sure they were strong arming......plus add the fact they were cutting into the borgata's services.....That would be like you going into Macy's and selling your cologne next to theirs and then bitching about it.....and you are not sharing in any of the expenses like rent....

i see nothing wrong with breaking this ring up.....

that being said i wish sports betting were legal

Oh come on Tony. They weren't forcing anybody to bet.

Yeah, locals charge juice. But offshores get to sit on all my money in advance.

And, speaking of juice, have you ever used those cash advance machines in the casinos?? What do they charge?

And, what's the house edge on some of those slots? 12%?

I stand by my point. Cracking down on a gambling ring in a house of gambling is absurd.

gris......big difference here....argue all you want...

1 is legal the other is not....period....like it or not...

also 1 owns the establishment the other is infringing on their rights and cutting into their gate...

now if you said the borgata was running the sports betting i would see the hypocrisy since i think sports betting should be legal.....

but i totally do not see the point when the mafia is running a book in someone elses biz establishment
