Yeah, the only category Beckett was better than CC was in wins, by 1. And that's the one that a pitcher has the least control over. I was very happy to have Beckett on my fantasy team though.

I'm neither a tribe or Sox fan. I voted and posted in the poll prior to the playoffs that Beckett was my choice. He was solid down the stretch. The game he pitched vs the Yanks in the closing week after the Yanks took the first 2 games of the series and cut the division lead to a few games IMO should have won him the Cy Young.

The Regular Season Numbers Were Identical

What Won It For Cc Was The 209 Strikeouts To 37 Walks Ratio - Thats Crazy !! Those Walks Are Maddux - Like In His Prime

I don't see this as the difference at all. If you think it's "Crazy", than you should feel the same for both pitchers, not just Sabathia.

Both guys had the EXACT same WHIP, which is walks and hits combined per inning pitched at 1.14 (Great number for a starter). Beckett on the other hand had 8.70 K's per 9 innings pitched and Sabathia was only at 7.80 K's per 9 innings pitched.

Beckett also could have easily pitched 40 more innings if he had to but that was not in his control as Francona chose to go to the number 1 pen in the A.L. in the 8th instead of the 9th like Wedge did. Boston had 2 All Stars waiting for those 2 innings and Beckett didn't need to pitch them. Beckett should not be penalized for 40 less innings pitched because that is in the managers hands and not his. If you praise Sabathia for those numbers, Beckett deserves it even more as i showed.
