I bet its close now because the took down the whole backstretch and built a big hill for motorhomes to park on.Trust me at a 500 mile race in Atlanta,5 miles might be interesting to a reg. fan.Now us die hards understand what all is involved with winning a 500 mile race but Atlanta is the most stretched out,boring race of the year.Maybe the COT will change that though.

Don't get me wrong,I like Atlanta but like I said to a avg fan(which you and I are not)Atlanta doesn't offer the excitement to keep coming back.I feel this way about all the 11/2.Not much side by side racing,few cautions(wrecks),long green runs where it gets strung out and not many guys on the lead lap.Of course every race cant be rubbin and bangin like Bristol or Richmond but one year go to Charlotte and sit through a 600.Thank God for beer is all I got to say.
