  • Money Line Plays Are Better Than Teasers -- What Do You Think

I very rarely post NFL games because that is my worst sport to beat. I only make a couple of plays on Sunday for the same reason. I just made this play and after looking at it again, I decided it's worth posting, that's how much I like it.

What I have done is to pick the one early NFL game I like the best and parlyed it with four favorites on the Money Line. You can't do that with teasers. What I like about Money Line plays vs. Teaser plays, is that I can include as many games as I want and I can include ATS plays in the same parley. This is my only play on the early games, yet I've got action on 5 games for the price of one.

You can see I increased the payout on my St. Louis play by more than 500%, from 300 to win 270 now up to 300 to win 1439. You can do the same thing and if you want, use your best play instead of St. Louis. I just can't see the four Money Line teams losing their game outright.

Why not simply bet the game you like and forget all the gimics?

I don't see this as a gimic. It's my way of increasing the payoff if the game I like wins. These large MoneyLine favs have a very good chance of winning SU. In todays case, I would much rather win $1439 than just $270. I don't usually add this many M/L plays to my main play, except with the NFL. If nothing else, this saves me losing more money from playing more than one NFL game this morning. Your great with numbers Frank. Isn't this right. I could make this same type play five times and could lose one or more of the MoneyLine plays, 4 of the 5 times, and basically still be even. I don't think favs of at least a touchdown lose SU very often in the NFL. In fact, you probally know the % of these teams that win SU.

Normally, I'll add just one or two big favorites to the ATS play I'm making when betting baseball. I can play a game at around -110 and parley it with just one good sized for baseball favorite of around -210 and win $200 instead of just $100. Assuming my origional game wins, I would need the big baseball fav to win 2 out of 3 times to make this work.

Should be interesting how this turns out today. Right now, my main St. Louis +3 play is up 14-3 for a good start and only one of the four big favs is losing, Indy, which would be a huge upset if Vinnie beats Manning.

          Bump For Frankb03 To See

Frank. I tried to answer your concerns eariler in this same thread. I hope you had a chance to read it. What I am doing is not a gimmic. In fact, all four MoneyLine plays did win and I would have won over $1400 if St. Louis, my origional and best ATS play, would have won, instead of just $270.

Can't find anything wrong with that.

Sandy first of all what you do with yer plays is yer own business.....I think what Frank was trying to say is that if St Louis did cover and one of them so called 'easy' ML plays sank yer bet you would be kicking yerself.

Its hard enough to pick 1 winner out of the bunch let alone trying to pick one and pairing it with 4 others....JMO and like I said just refer back to my 1st sentence.

But I do I agree with Frank that parlays and teasers for the most part are gimmicks (I play them too sometimes though)

Do what is best for you, Im sure youve been around the block a few times and have an understanding of whats going on, take care

              PEACE

Pimp. I understand what you are saying. The only difference is that I wouldn't be kicking my self if one of my easy M/L picks lost and sank my origional bet. Why? A couple of reasons. I would need to make three or four mistakes in a row to cost me. I made a play this way tonight, which I'll show you. But first, my other reason that makes this work for me, is that it isn't very hard to pick if a big favorite will win the game SU, although, yes, we all know it is much harder to pick if the big favorite will cover the spread.

This is a play I made tonight. The reason I'm showing it, is because one of the games has not started yet, so I could lose that part of my play. My origional play was the Det/Calgary UNDER 5.5 at -135, for $300, which did win. If I had just left this play alone, my $300 would have won about $225.

But, by parleying the hockey UNDER with two big Hockey favs, Ottawa -240 and Vancouver -175, my $300 play can win $862, or more than three times what my UNDER play would have won by itself. Will I kick myself if Vancouver loses. Sure I will, but not because I didn't win $225 if I had left everything alone, but because I didn't win $862.

I can make similar plays three more times and just have to win one of them to be ahead. RIght now the most important thing is for you and Frank to realize, I have no problem with your thinking. I don't do these plays every night, but when I do, I'll try to post them, just for all to see if I'm hurting or helping myself playing this way.

This is tonights three team parlay, where I included Vancouver and Ottawa, just to increase the payout.
