Well, I like not leaving anything to chance. If Va Tech gets the ball first in the second half- will we have a problem- not really - it would seem that they are a counterpuncher in the second half- waiting to see what the opposing team is going to do before they play their 4th Qtr best.

I like the +.5. This eliminates a tie score so Va Tech must score one more time than BC or go for 2 after a TD. The other thought is a tie and its a push and you are laying out less money!

              Spear:

Great stuff as always! A little confused on some of the numbers as the don't seem to add up properly. For example, look at the W&M game where the quarters add up to 13 but the Hokies actually scored 44. Also, UNC game is another example. Am I reading it wrong?

It got me curious and I went and looked at my books, bet jamaica and bookmaker. Bookmaker only has all 4 quarter lines. What was interesting as no quarter is va tech favored in terms of juice, 115, 110, 120, 120 (they are -.5). VA Tech is favored by 3 in terms of overall line but the book is saying they have minimal chance of winning any quarter? Am I reading too much in to it? I don't like what that is telling me...

                KJ- Nice observation!
Va Tech scored 27-14-3-0 vs Wake.
Against NC-7-0-10-0. Key being 10 points were scored in the 3rd period.
                Please note this! Thanx KJ!
On the lines the book just spread it out as evenly as they could. They do not share the same theory as I am sharing so consequently all games get exceptional value in half time plays and quarter plays in my opinion!

Being this is a sighting- I am obligated to fix the problem!
                  BC...2nd. Half total..106pts. (15.14pts.)
                  VT....2nd. Half total..80pts. (10.7pts.)

                  Boston College
                  1st. Half +20 points..2nd. Half +36 points
outscored VT. +34 points in the 3rd. Quarter.

Looking at this closer- Look at the competition aspect- No real tough games except on the side of Va Tech. Lost big against LSU at LSU and won the rest over mediocre teams.
BC played Ga Tech well but really hasn't played anybody.

With the QB hurting for Va Tech - I expect this game to be on a defensive note with special teams figuring into the landscape.
3rd Qtr still looks every bit of a decent bet at BC +.5

LIKE YOUR THINKING SPEARIT WOULD REALLY LIKE TO KNOW WHO GETS THE BALL FIRST 3RD QUARTER.I ALSO THINK THIS WILL BE A LOW SCORING GAME AND IF VIRG TECH GETS THE BALL FIRST IN THE 3RD THEN FIELD POSITION WILL BE IN THIER FAVOR IF THEY GET 2 FIRST DOWNS OR 1 FIRST DOWN AND A DECENT RETURN ON THE OPENING KICKOFF.GOING TO RIDE IT WITH YOU AND HOPE THAT VIRG TECH GETS THE OPENING KICKOFF AND BOSTON COLLEGE GETS THE BALL 2ND HALF WOULD LOVE THIS BET.

Looks like a solid bet, I just have trouble pulling the trigger on quarter bets. GL Spearit.
